Oh WhoDat...

Even with all that ASU "will have" toward becoming a regular at the top of the Pac, they will still be missing two of the most key elements: an effective coach that can recruit, and a solid fan base.

As long as Herb is there, you guys will go nowhere.

Because what it really comes down to is recruiting, en masse. And as much as all of the beautiful things that you are talking about, might happen, they will still be playing for ASU. Getting a Harden, or a Carson, is obviously not enough. You need a pipeline, and ASU is still on the ground as far as that's concerned. As long as Miller, Monty, Boyle, and Altman are around, ASU will have some stiff competition. Because these programs are already making it happen, whereas ASU is not. Hell, even Fischer, and the potential of Alford and Enfield are going to make it difficult for ASU to get players in the West. The Pac is on its way back up again, and unless ASU fires Herb and goes out and gets a quality coach (and Musselman might be good enough), then everyone else is just getting better, and ASU is staying the same, at best. And when recruits come to watch ASU, and only see 5-7k in the stands, they are going to look elsewhere. ASU has a mountain to climb before they are a permanent fixture at the top of the Pac. Oh, and half of the teams are either at the top, or already well into the climb.

Oh, and UNLV is mediocre at best. Give me a break. They are better than 2-2, really? Why, because they only lost to ASU by eight? C'mon. They needed everything they had to beat U of Neb-Omaha at home, by 3. And they got absolutely rolled by UCSB by 20 at home. They haven't shown anything that says that they are better than 2-2, against a very weak schedule.

Hes starting to recruit players that fit his system. Hes got some good athletes coming in. There not the best recruits in the nation but there better than what they have been. Good athletes to go with his uptempo system but it maybe to late for Herb. His image is already hurt with all the transfers and bottom of the barrel teams. He is starting to turn it around a little bit but once Jahii leaves we will have a bad year next year as his recruits need to develop. And Herb is already on a short leash by by! Hopefully we make the right hire.

He was so close to being a national contender if he would of just got DeRozan to go along with Harden in 08. Oh well...............

Gilling and Shaq played like shit. Egor was much better than Shaq and once we get Kearney back. Gilling wont play like this every game right? Almost made us lose.

Carson carried the load big time. Jermaine was good and so was Bach. I already know Kearney is 10x better than Shaq.

Oh and CTP Musselman could be a sleeper as a head coach. I think he could be very, good.
