If you watch the replay they show the moose dancing and some lady in a bluejay jersey walks down the stairs and flips the moose off right to his face and walks away. Shortly after Suarez launched the walk off. Don't mess with the moose!

Were you high?

Several young guys are not only clicking, but carrying the load. Jrod is on another level, Gilbert and Kirby are playing crazy good for young pitchers.

Suarez is looking better than he did early. Winker showing signs of coming out of his funk. Ray pitching much better. The moves they made to the early blow-pen have worked.

Even the recent pickups have at least added reasonable stopgap measures. Santana has had some crazy good plays at 1st that have contributed to this surge.

GTFO Dipoto should be fired / hasn't done anything.

If either Hani or Lewis can ball out the rest of the year and help keep Toro out of the lineup, this could be an outstanding second half.
Was I high? No one disputed Julio, Gilbert and Kirby weren’t carrying their weight. Problem was no one else was. Jerry did nothing to make them better from them being in the gutter to where they are at, hence why I posed the question if Scott did something to rally the team and it sparked something. That is on you if you think the Santana deal was anything more than just a warm body to cover for the France injury.

And of course your last sentence is correct. That is exactly the definition of a having good trade deadline.

2 games back in the WC.

If they can just split the next 2 they are in pretty good shape. Finish up the first half with 2 at the nats and 4 at the rangers. 2 pretty bad teams.

Gotta keep this going while we can. That first 20 game stretch of the second half is going to be brutal.

Yea it was nice to see ole' Skunk-Head get into one. An earlier at bat he watches 2 fastballs for strikes and never swings and then takes a hack at a breaking ball out of the zone after he had 2 strikes on him. All is forgiven ... last nite was a great game.

Our relief arms are dealing right now. Even in high leverage situations, just slamming the door on good hitters these past few weeks.

Will say it again, we are playing like a legit MLB baseball team. it is very refreshing to watch. I had no problems with apple TV video quality. Watched it on my smart big TV and all was fine.

Just keep waiting for the streak to end and the bats to cool back off again. The pitching has been solid for a while now. On paper this lineup should be putrid, but for some reason is in a groove at the right time. Do we have faith it will stay there?

J-Rod is something else!! He's been on fire these last games. M's offense has definatey turned the corner. JP gets a nice RBI double to put the M's in the lead. :thumb:

It helps when the umps finally decided that he had paid his dues and stopped calling a strike on anything within 3 inches of the strike zone. Granted their are still some umps giving him the rookie treatment, but it is happening far less often. Bobby Witt Jr went through something very similar to Julio, and when the umps finally eased up him, he started hitting too. And now the umps are doing to the Pirates super rook, O'Neill Cruz. 25 strikeouts in 68 at bats? Come on, man. I don't know why MLB lets the umps get away with that shit.

Alex Manoah is going for the Jays tonight. He's tough. Every bit as good as Gilbert. Two future $35 million/year pitchers unless an elbow or shoulder breaks down.

Well like the Mariners batters, I am out. If they make it back to .500 in my lifetime I will revisit. But same old crap and this board down to 5 posters, time to vent elsewhere about something else in life. :drink:
1 game over .500. Time for a return visit even just for a cup of coffee? :noidea:

I mean I get it. Most are going to raise an eyebrow at most and just privately enjoy any sort of streak while it lasts since they are the rare treat of NW baseball.

What do they reasonably have to beat on Aug 10th (when they finish their rough patch of games coming out of the break) for hope to return for any of you? To be at or above .500 at that point seems unlikely, but what would still leave you feeling good about their final run?

Mind you, their final 49 games of the year after Aug 10 only have 5 games against currently over .500 teams: 3 against Braves, and 2 against Padres. That's it. They are seeing a LOT of the shitty central division and the west bottom feeders all the way to the end of the season.

By Aug 10th they are done with the AL East, done with the stros, they are already done with the twinkies, and that's all of the teams in the AL above .500. Unless one of the other teams in the central or one of our division foes below us gets hot again, only those 5 NL games are against winning teams and all 5 are at home!

So, this is a serious question to what's left of the board - What do they need to be at come Aug 10th to get you hyped up? You going to feel good if they are 3 or 4 under .500? Is there no mark where you are buying back in until they actually go prove it and SECURE a WC slot?

As bad as this season has been for stretches, it's just crazy that they found a way back to .500 with the dogshit they put at the plate every night and the schedule has never been more favorable for a stretch run in team history. If (big if) you can keep either Haniger or Lewis through to the end on top of what you have already done recently, is that enough?
