Series Thread: Toronto @ Mariners July 7th-July 10th (my birthday)

This should be an inteesting series. Toronto fans usually pack the Stadium. Gonzo v Gausman in game one. How the M's do against the Blue Jays with our current line-up might give a good idea where the M's could be headed during the last half,

Gausman is hurt... I saw Mariner legend Casey Lawrence listed as the game one starter earlier today, now it is someone else. I bet Lawrence pitches at least 4 or 5 innings as the "bulk"/mop up guy.

So far so good ... bullpen should be able to hold this lead. We look like a legit ballclub tonite. Alot of offense and Julio has little contribution at the plate. Nice to see runs scored without him for a change.

This tells me they have great pitching. Just terrible offense. Hopefully this shit is fixed now.

I may be jinxing it coming back to this board but sounds like signs are up. I am just curious if Stanton had fired Jerry but kept Scott on would it still be the same. Jerry hasn’t done anything recently that made the team better, it just appears Scott rallied the troops.

Cal is slowly moving up the team ranks in several offensive categories. His slugging percentage is 3rd among starters and his OPS is 4th. 21 RBI in his last 31 games. Over the last 5 weeks, he has more home runs than anyone other than Julio and his OPS over that time frame is .912 (.255/.330/.582/.912).

Service doesn't make any moves that are risky. Everything is by the book. Kind of a vanilla manager. Bringing in Santana may have helped. The team had been sorely lacking in veteran leadership.

And they have made it back without either haniger or Lewis. Should leave them more relaxed when they do return. They know they can play and win against quality teams without them.

Were you high?

Several young guys are not only clicking, but carrying the load. Jrod is on another level, Gilbert and Kirby are playing crazy good for young pitchers.

Suarez is looking better than he did early. Winker showing signs of coming out of his funk. Ray pitching much better. The moves they made to the early blow-pen have worked.

Even the recent pickups have at least added reasonable stopgap measures. Santana has had some crazy good plays at 1st that have contributed to this surge.


GTFO Dipoto should be fired / hasn't done anything.

If either Hani or Lewis can ball out the rest of the year and help keep Toro out of the lineup, this could be an outstanding second half.
