To take Jonathan Sanchez's spot on the roster, the Pirates have called up RP Bryan Morris.

gomez, then liriano, then morton, then karstens, then cole.

hopefully they have 2 make it to give a cushion for always having one on the DL.

First off thank god he is gone.
Anyway with the way McDonald is pitching right now they might need 2 of those folks. What is it something like 20 walks in 26 innings. Something is just not right with him, I still feel a DL stint will be coming soon.

also not mixing in that awesome curveball very much.

i was watching the mlb gameday. they show the pitches speed and location, and a bunch of the balls were in the strike zone (according to the gameday placement). not sure if he doesnt get the close calls or what. i havent seen him actually pitch this year, all my observations are from what gameday "shows" me.

I saw him live yesterday. He is just bad. He isn't nibbling, he doesn't get the ball close enough to the strike zone to call it that. At time it was like he didn't even know where he was trying to throw the baseball. The time he hit Segura, the 2 previous pitches nearly took Segura's head off. He threw another pitch that barely made it to the dirt in front of homeplate. It was kind of like watching Jonathan Sanchez ifbSanchez was right handed. As for the curve, it did not look good, it was slow with little break and usually so far out of the zone that the only guy to swing at it was Carlos Gomez.

He was sitting 88-91 with his FB and inly hit as high as 92 once. He did not appear to be in pain or have any mechanical issues, so either he is just bad or there is an injury that hasn't surfaced yet. I would put money on the latter.
