Tonight the Blue Jackets will find out if they can trade their first pick for someone good like Jack Eichel or a useless scrub like Marner. :thumb:

Blue Jackets could use a lottery win here with the Seth Jones news.
Honestly, with 4 solid D prospects, as long as we don't drop we should be fine.

Power, Hughes, Edvinsson or Clarke should all provide help soon.

But it is Jarmo, so we might be picking someone from Shanghai's C league no matter what.

Sabres have had pretty bad lottery luck for such a bad team, winning only once out of their three last overall.

Obviously wouldn't mind winning it, even though we've Edmonton'd ourselves into not deserving it. No worse than 3rd isn't terrible when you don't have any overwhelming consensus guy and the big drop-off seems to happen around 5-7.

Odds and my prediction on who wins is in bold and who gets screwed of is italics (sorry @forty_three).
For some reason I think a west coast team will win the lottery because Bettman is noticing they are ALL in the draft lottery, and he needs one of those markets to be successful.

1. Buffalo Sabres, 16.6 percent

2. Anaheim Ducks, 12.1 percent

3. Seattle Kraken, 10.3 percent

4. New Jersey Devils, 10.3 percent

5. Columbus Blue Jackets, 8.5 percent

6. Detroit Red Wings, 7.6 percent

7. San Jose Sharks, 6.7 percent

8. Los Angeles Kings, 5.8 percent

9. Vancouver Canucks, 5.4 percent

10. Ottawa Senators, 4.5 percent

11. Arizona Coyotes, 3.1 percent

12. Chicago Blackhawks, 2.7 percent

13. Calgary Flames, 2.2 percent

14. Philadelphia Flyers, 1.8 percent

15. Dallas Stars, 1.4 percent

16. New York Rangers, 1.0 percent

It would be classic Senators luck to get buggered in every draft lottery and then win this one, where there is no clear cut #1, franchise level player.

As I'm sure most everyone knows, if the Coyotes were to win the lottery, we would have a re-draw as those cheaters are not eligible to win.

there should actually be a SEPERATE draft to get their pick so some team could get an additional 1st round pick :). every team in the league that missed the playoffs gets the same %.. if really feels like they change the rules for the draft on the fly. it just feels so corrupt

LOL... if I was any good at predicting, I would have won the lottery by now.
With that said, I have just as good as results as any other psychic. :)

if we don't draft the best D man available I'll lose it

this being said. if we made a package that included our 1st overall for a young Dman that can play today for a strapped team I Would be all in. and I dont believe that is Jones

I keep on seeing these upside down V's on numerous graphs for Jones (shift + 6 on your keyboard). I'm no advanced stats guru, but that can't be good, right?

nope.... I would stick with those guys over Jones for depth alone. I think Rathbone is worth keeping to see if he can become a bonefide dman. I liked alot of what I saw in the short time he was here. I also think Schmidt deserves one more season in a normal environment to see how he plays.

But if the rumo(u)r is true and schmidt wants out ...
