Hunter was a very good ball player for us last year and I really gained a lot of respect for him and the way he plays the game. I really did not want him to be on the Astros. Pence who plays the game right and the Astros just do not mix.
About the only thing I’m hearing out of the MLB concerning Texas nowadays is about its former players. So much for off seasonFormer Ranger is doing just fine.
Woodward knows how to talk it up.
We hope the fact that he has mentioned a few things to the press one hopes that it puts Odor and Guzman to the realization that they will have to earn the position. And you are right in that Guzman deserves this year at least to prove himself. He technically has one season under his belt. Odor not so much. Will see how this all plays out.Woodward knows how to talk it up.
To me Guzman deserves more rope than anyone else in the infield because he has used up less rope in the past, much less rope.
Worth the shot.

Guzman deserves a chance and I am glad they traded Maz so you would quit ragging on him. You have to be the most negative poster ever on this site.we’ve seen this before.
They say all the right things, but when the guys they’re talking about actually shit bed and corrective action is needed, the front office is either : too scared to pull the trigger, worry too much about the long term ramifications for “ their guy”, or say “ we believe in him!” While he continues to strike out nearly every AB.
we have always been a little too patient with our guys, but this current crop of players has chewed through not only their own allotment of rope or slack, but they’ve also gone thru the next batch of players too.
Quite frankly, I’m sick of Guzman and odor. I’m willing to give condor a chance this year, but I really wanted a platoon partner for him and someone who could step in quick if he falters.

I don't know who "we" is but we have had players that we were not patient with and it was a huge mistake and some we were patient with and it turned out great. So that "all inclusive" statement "we have ALWAYS been too patient" is incorrect.
IMO you just can't give up on a man who has power and excellent defense like Guzman has. Good hitting instructions could prove to be invaluable given a season to get it down. I say this because we are not going very far this year so it is a perfect time to get Guzman rolling.management needs to get smarter and quit being tightwads.
it’s hard to be happy with the situation as it is right now.
