Nah, we good in this division, we don't need Watson in it too.

Goff has a 91 career passer rating and 3 playoff wins under his belt. In 2018, he put up NFL caliber numbers as a starter. You cannot logically put him in the same category as Sam Darnold.

Stafford has an 89.9 career passer rating and 0 playoff wins.

Even if they the Lions cut Goff lose, they still get 2 first rounds picks and a 3rd rounder out of the deal. The Lions have the ability to either trade up for Fields or Wilson OR get multiple playmakers to compliment Goff on the offensive side.

I fully understand that Stafford has plenty of gas in the tank, but the Rams handicuffed Stafford with less opportunities to get weapons to compliment him.
The only reason Goff has any of that is McVay hiding his flaws with a dynamic running game, play action and boots. Put Goff in the pocket with what Darnold and Stafford have had and he is just a terrible QB. He has had the odd stellar game but for the most part, he has been carried by very good RBs and a lot of YAC yards. The passer rating in this case is flawed. The kid does gave a good enough arm but he has a 10 cent brain most of the time.

I wouldnt want Jimmy G., but I would take the picks.
Just wasnt sure if they had 1st rounders or if they were already given away?
Who would have wanted Goff?

Bridge QB until whatever young QB you get is ready.

Just answer these simple questions for me and you'll realize that the number or TDs Goff threw in garbage time in 3 playoff games doesn't matter.

When's the last time the Lions won a playoff game?
When's the last time the Lions won a division title?
When's the last time the Lions played in a Conference title game?
When's the last time the Lions played in a Super Bowl?

Goff >> Stafford
All you proved is that the Rams are better than the Lions. That was never in doubt.

I wouldn’t want him either but look at the Lions they just took Jared Goff and his atrocious contract. Jimmy G’s contract really isn’t anything compared to Goff and not that bad to this point...he only has a $4.5M dead cap hit for 21 and 22 combined. A team could just cut him if they really wanted to.

But from what I heard his contract has a clause in it and they can’t trade him until 2022 without his permission, so he basically can dictate where he wants to go

The Rams paid a lot, but they unloaded Goff's contract. That may be worth a lot to them.

actually looking at his contract I am not seeing any dead money on Stafford?
The Lions literally could have cut him & had zero dead cap hit.

LOL....why would the Lions cut him when they can get two #1's, a 3rd and a 26 year old placeholder

the attachment says 19M, maybe their wrong

Rams will be fine as long as all the starters remain healthy :rolleyes2::D

weird. the place I am looking shows all of his signing bonus was paid up already.
I wonder if they moved one of his roster bonuses to signing bonus to make the trade?

LOL
this is also listed at bottom of page of where I am looking now. No explanation but shows the 19 mil dead cap space  LOL
