taormina is yet to play with an ahl partner...
anyone else thinking he could, like gelinas, be a sleeper?

Hi looked good on offense (nice shots), but still needs to work on defense. Urbom looked good to me.

i think at this point urbom is a virtual lock. jumps up in the play but almost never with out cover. kids smart.

because of that, and knowing greene is the only true puck mover we have maybe taormina is getting a bigger look than we give him credit for? hell the guy had 50 points in lowell last year as a rookie d man. granted he came out of college so he's a bit older but still

Preseason games are showing some weakness on defense, allowing easy goals and also Hedberg and Marty were rusty - not in season ready condition yet.

I think Taormina has a real shot. He's playing well plus Johnny Mac knows/likes him from Albany. I would not be surprised to see him and Urbom make the team.

With Salvador most likely done for a while I see both making the team.

Gelinas has already been returned to JR. I've thought Taormina had just as good of a chance as any of the other dmen after MacLean's comments at his hiring press conference.

Salvador and Salmela are both out, so 3 of Fraser, Urbom, Taormina, Corrente are going to make it initially. I personally think that Fraser has played poorly, based off the game I attended.

i agree but at the same time they made a point of wanting to get bigger, and i view fraser as a slightly less mobile version of corrente.

when it comes down to it... corrente could very well be losing out AGAIN

I also think that Corrente's ability to play forward can only help his chances.
