I think he did replace Moreland in 2014 until Fielder went down with the injury. I believe it was some time during the 2015 season that Fielder went to Banny and told him the team was batter off with Mitch at 1B.

Eh, considering Fielder played 42 and Mitch played 52, it was temporary at best

And Mitch was still getting the majority of ABs at DH, so he didn't replace him in the lineup, which is more what we're talking about here, jettisoning one player for another b/c they're better than the other, this was more of a defensive alignment position

We're talking about replacing Odor completely in the lineup or on the roster, which wasn't what happened with Moreland

I'm by no means a business expert, but I'm pretty certain the Rougned Odor contract will not sink the Rangers.
We shall see. I don't think it is so much the money part of it as saying we put our best foot forward based on a season and a half of good MLB results for Odor and now we have to put our egos aside and do what is best for the team. There are times an organization has done what they would hope would jump start a player at the expense of the team. Now sometimes that could be the manager or it could be the FO. There is a fine line there.

I really respected Prince for doing that. Not too many players would do that.

To your point, you are right. Mitch wasn't sent packing or anything.

Good business men know when to admit a mistake and go on to something that will make them more money. Stubborn pride will keep people from admitting a mistake and will kill a business. I am not sure if that is what nthis is or not. It could simply be indecision. That will kill a business too.

It seems like the organization is too stubborn.

Remember when they kept rushing Choo back from injury and he kept getting hurt the first game back?

I mean, the guy is way overpaid and I understand why they’d want him on the field, but by rushing him back they weren’t able to let him actually heal and he had to be shut down for the year.

Maybe ownership is tired of “ wasting their money”. Remember we had to pay Alex Rodriguez for what seemed like forever after he left the team, we had to pay fielder for god knows how long after he quit playing. It’s frustrating because I wishthey would just focus on making the best baseball decision or simply what’s best for the team and not a player that they really like.

I saw today that IFK has played CF and OF in the minors. When Odor gets back Robinson should be sent down.

We could send this guy to AA and it would work fine for me.

Sorry, but he's shown flaws defensively, regardless of position, and his under .180 is actually worse than it seems. Meaning, 'when you strikeout, for the majority of your sorry .180 avg, it gives us no chance to move men along, for the opposition to make an error, etc.' He, by definition, is a black-hole in the lineup.

Really just doesn't fit on this team. Guess they were in hopes he could play CF but to no avail

Again, there's no evidence of his, right calf, left hamstring, lower back

You could make an argument they were related, but it was never said as so, considering he openly admitted rushing back in 2014, I don't think they were, just an injury plagued season

It wouldn't have been that bad if the offense had scored more than 1 run.

Made 4 big mistakes tonight

He kinda earned this loss but he didn't exactly pitch poorly

3rd straight Cy Young winner we've faced and we've now faced 11 of the top 15 ERA guys, I think our periodic offensive struggles make a little sense now

I just noticed that Alexi Ogando pitched in his first MLB game since 2016 for the Indians tonight. Did not do well but did not even know he was still pitching in the minors or majors.
