This guy they are facing today can't handle pitching on the road. Franco is going yard today-maybe twice. Herrera will have 3 hits. Either Ruf or Rupp should also take him deep.

Were no where near hittin season.. I expect things to get better with our bats when it warms up outside in May.
I am glad to see our starting pitching has been doing a job for the most part.

Sooner or later things will line up and we will string a few wins together.

Wow, I just saw the lineup and Rupp and Ruf aren't in it. I have no idea what happened to the platoon at first base. I'm actually not sure Mackanin knows what a platoon is. Then again I don't remember if Mackanin said he would platoon Ruf and Howard or if that was something a bunch of writers came up with. Nevertheless, they would be better off with Ruf starting against lefties. I did read that Ruf has been working out in left field but that doesn't mean he can't do both. (1b against lefties, lf against righties).

It's a scary, weak lineup. They should start Blanco at first -.349 vs LHP last year but off to a slow start. Howard has hit 2 homers so far so I guess MacKanin is hoping for a pitching mistake. Last year Howard was 13 for 100 vs lefties.

Goeddel finally gets a start in place of Burris. But Mack is starting Howard again versus a lefty. Despite the fact that Ruf kills lefties he is still on the bench. I thought this lunacy was over when Amaro left. Mack is just
plain weak with players. All they have to do is cry a little and he gives in.
