I'll preface this with I'm drunk but was wondering.

When it comes to his contract, would it work if they renewed it for like 5 years 40 million...yet the Seahawks give him 100 million as a consultant for whatever clubhouse position?

Nah, that would never work. You do remember what happened to the Cowboys and Redskins for being tricky, right?

I'm pretty sure Roger Goodell wouldn't take too kindly to a team sneaking around the cap like that. Fortunately there's plenty of time to get a deal done and I don't think Wilson will bolt for a couple dollars more than we offer him.

We haven't seen JS&PC negotiate a long term deal with a franchise QB yet. It should be very interesting when it happens.

I wouldn't want to try it. The people that approve these contracts in the league office aren't stupid and they'd probably see through anything like that and punish us for it severely.

"So Mr. Wilson, I see you signed a ten year contract for league minimum and you're also moonlighting as a janitor at VMAC for how much again?"

NFL really frowns on getting tricky with the cap.

Sources -- Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins lose millions in cap space - ESPN

"The salary cap is projected to be $120.6 million in 2012, but the Cowboys will lose $10 million, while the Redskins will be docked $36 million in cap space, sources said."

That was harsh punishment. I don't even want to think about the Seahawks getting tricky. They can handle the cap without pulling something like this.

Sign him to a modest contract and then pay his wife $100 million over 5 years to make sandwiches and put on puppet shows for the players. Boom! Problem solved. < High fives all around.>
