Damn, I was hoping to see what Butler had to offer. Matteau has spent the offseason working out with Zubrus so that's not the worst mentor for a big forward.

yeah its a really strange move imo. i can see them keeping SM up here for the 5 games. butler probably will get picked up by someone else most likely the islanders IMO.

they really cant roll into the season with darche. have we not learned from malakov/mogilny/mcgillis that 35+ ufa dont cut it! add rolston/pando to that list of horrible contracts!

not saying butler was any better but i would rather have him!

or maybe gomez coming back? thats a move i do support.

So even though he was waived, it's assumed that Butler is still the 13th forward. Matteau made the team. Tedenby appears to have been sent down so the Devils can get to 23 but WILL BE RECALLED TOMORROW to play against islanders. It's a house keeping thing.

Apparently Butler won't clear till tomorrow at noon or 2, so he's on roster till then from what I understood according to TG. Once he clears, Teddy probably comes right back up
