Anyone think the Mets should sell Dickey while his stock is sky high right now? They could possibly get some good return on some prospects to help them win in the future.

Plus you can never really know what to expect from a knuckler. This season was great for him but I'm not sure he will repeat it. I hope he does though.

I'm going to attempt to get this Mets board going. If I were GM of the Mets and assuming we lock up David Wright here is what I would do:

- Stop with the we're on a budget, cut payroll bullshit and act like a big market team with money, go out and sign Josh Hamilton.

- Trade Dickey for a young outfield bat.

- Chalk the 2013 season up as a loss, if we do well great, if not, it's good experience for our young pitchers.

- Next offseason go balls to the wall, overpay for Tim Lincecum and resign Johan at a severe discount.

That would give the Mets a 2014 team with a rotation of Lincecum-Harvey-Wheeler-Johan-Niese and a lineup of 2. Murphy 3. Hamilton 4. Wright 5. Ike Davis 6. Outfield bat we got for Dickey. That's about as solid as you can get, that's a playoff team.

Good ideas. I like the direction. I still think it would be smart to deal Dickey. He's not getting any younger.
