Yeah, they were missing some big guns, but that team that has always been greater than the sum of the parts.

I just wish we beat the Flyers last week, would've really proven this team is different. Oh well, gotta get over it and be happy about the 3 game win streak :suds:

GAA: 3.27
PP%: 2.9%

Pittsburgh Penguins

Home record: 4-2-0
Streak: +3
GFA: 4.00
GAA: 2.44

Series notes
All-time: Pens lead series 77-62-2 with 35 ties
Last season: Pens won series 3-0-0
Last meeting: 2-5-2014 @ First Niagara Center, Pens won 5-1

Doob's take: Pens are on a 3 game win streak, now we're facing a team which is struggling. If we play like we've played the past 3 games there is no doubt that we will win this game. Key is to keep doing what we're doing and not take the Sabres lightly. Doob picks the Pens to win 4-2.

LET'S GO PENS!

Fleury looked sharp in the third, which is all of the game that I saw. I thought for a second he was going to get a goal, too.
He looked good all game. It was a big improvement over the New Jersey game. Not so much giving up three goals, but he looked looser and more fluid in the net last night than he did against the Devils. I think the big gap in games hurts him.

I know the Kings were missing some people and Quick wasn't in the net, but its still a good win.

Kings are a really cheap team with the sticks, constantly slashing, getting sticks up high, Malkin had enough.

I understand why they are such a good playoff team, definitely the type of crap they let go in the playoffs to the detriment of the league.
:agree:
You noticed that too did you and I totally agree with you about the playoffs. The dirty teams always do better.

Nice take by Sid to the net, great work by Hornqvist and Kuni to clean up.

Pens up 1-0!

Gotta give Enroth credit, he's kept the Sabres in the game until the Pens got the poser play going. I hope we get the shutout again. That would be 3 shutouts in the past 4 games.

The first half of the game was a lot closer than I thought it should be, but the power plays put the game away for the Pens. Fluery was tested a couple times but kept them out of the net for the second straight game. Its still to early to start thinking about the parade route, but I'm enjoying the season so far.

Enroth kept the Sabres in the game early on but that Comeau goal shattered his confidence and then the Pens power play finished him off. Team has played lights out the past 4 games, 3 shutouts (the 1 game we didn't get a shutout we won 8-3), no power play goals surrendered, and we're scoring goals galore. Sid is looking unstoppable right now with a left and right handed winger to work with. Even our back lines are contributing. It's a good time to be a Penguin fan that's for sure :suds:

I like the way Sid is playing too. Last night his line was just about the only one that was skating. The PK definitely shut the door after a rough couple games early on. I'm starting to get more optimistic about them now. They had new players and a new coach with a new system and I guess it took some time to gel. Still a long way to go but we're looking good so far.

Tuesday night will be a good test for us, Wild are playing well as well. We'll see what this team is really made of I think.
