Well Pullman and Moscow are quite the bubble. The Kibbie Dome would’ve held a nice 2 field. I mean it is unrealistic but IMO there isn’t really a reason the least likely group of people in the world to die from the virus shouldn’t be allowed to continue along with their normal lives. But it also is terrible optics that fans want it for their entertainment and “grown ups” want the money that comes with them playing.
DEATH IS NOT THE ONLY NEGATIVE OUTCOME

With no football this year, looks like the Olympics Channel, cough, I mean the PAC-12 network is making some big financial cuts.

One if the bright spots of the network, Mike Yam, has been let go. His coverage of football was always very high quality.

Max Browne had a great tweet about it. They should’ve sent the entire Pac 12 to Pullman to enforce the bubble. But ya, the lack of a bubble and the fact that we have individual conferences that aren’t one cohesive unit kind of doomed. Baseball is having issues because they didn’t implement a bubble and those are grown ass men and baseball has much higher personnel to player percentage.

Actually, the problem with baseball has really only been 2 teams, the Marlins and Cardinals.

In both cases, it was the result of team personnel doing things outside of the protocols. Every other team in MLB, so far, has followed protocols and not had to postpone any games unless they were against the Marlins or Cardinals.

Also, professional athletes typically go home to their families when they aren't at the stadium or on the road. College athletes return to campus and their facilities. It would be much easier to keep track of college athletes and what they're doing with their down time than professional athletes.

Sure, but MLB has professional athletes and actually has the amount of staff to keep an eye on players. No college program has enough staff. Without a “bubble” it is nearly impossible to have kids follow the “rules”. We have rules in place now and how many kids get busted for doing stuff that legitimately illegal or morally questionable?

I guess we can disagree, colleges are “online” but there are parties still going on and which age group has been the least responsible out of any age group thus far in this pandemic?

Playing football has a negative outcome.
If you are a college athlete with NFL chances and you get covid and recover but now have lung damage and shortness of breath you just lost out on the NFL.
and possibly a life altering difference.
or maybe because of the breathing problems other organs had issues from lack of oxygen.
now you have kidney failure and have to go for dialysis. if you get a dialysis fistula you arent even allowed to get a blood pressure taken on the same side. you think multiple 300lbs people falling on your arm would be ok?

I mean college kids are never known to break protocols and violate rules.

IMO it is hypocritical. You are drawing a line in the sand for probabilities not absolutes, but not proven facts of side effects of football?

Actually, it's the opposite. MLB doesn't have enough staff to keep an eye on players. They don't have anyone following these guys around when they aren't at the team facilities. Team facilities and stadiums are the only "bubbles" they have.

When they leave, they go home and go on about their lives. MLB is trusting that these guys will follow protocols.

In college, players spend most of their time either in class or at the football facilities. If classes are held at the football facilities, they have a lot less time outside of their "bubble" to fuck up.

Or you have a breakout season and your draft stock goes up 2 or 3 rounds. With no complications.

It would be easier to keep the college players away from parties than to keep a professional athlete from going to bars, etc.

Based on MLB and NBA (Lou Williams) 25-35 year olds have been least responsible.

A lot easier to keep an eye on them than professional athletes.
Then why do so many get in trouble every year? There are over 100 kids to watch. Can't watch all of them every second of the day.

If pro athletes are breaking the rules with all of the money at stake then why on earth wouldn't college kids be at least as likely to try.

Really doesn't matter now. The collective vag is already full of sand and the season done got canceled.

Why not bubble in LA. Use Coliseum, Rose Bowl and new stadium. I’m sure they discussed all avenues.

How does MLB not have enough staff? There are more staff members working for the Mariners with their big league roster and practice squad guys in Tacoma than almost the entire athletic department for WSU. I am not saying they do follow them or should, but they have enough people to if the MLBPA gave into that.

I guess our disagreement on this is, you have a lot more faith in 18-22 years old than I do.
