 Yeah the man was very good at finding talent and working the big board like no one else.
The man picked up extra picks this year as well didn't he?

Heck of a GM and the fact we have a guy in our FO that learned under Ozzie named Joe Douglas speaks volumes how good Ozzie was. Joe has helped Howie big time during the last couple drafts now.

Yeah, I think he doubled the amount of picks they had coming into the draft. I don't think anybody traded as much this weekend than the Ravens (It was pissing me off a little bit lol).

He isn't leaving the Ravens, just taking a different role next year. Decosta's got some big shoes to fill.

Well that's good he'll still be in the building, Decosta will still have his ear, and the transition will be smooth...
Though like Mall said above, Ozzie's guys are pretty well trained at evaluations and knowing how to put a board together.

Incredible career. The NFL is going to miss this guy. Even though Baltimore is a rival, I have always respected Ozzie & the Ravens organization. Even through the down years they always fielded a tough group. Nobody else played the Steelers as tough as they did under Ozzie's direction.

Good luck with the future endeavors Ozzie! :suds:

I hope his successor brings as much success to the NFL & the AFCN rivalry that he did.

Would be interesting to see how it turned out had Ozzie, Belichick and others been able to remain in Cleveland. Hard to see them not having a championship or two by now had they been able to.

who would you take for your franchise? ozzie newsome the TE, or ozzie the GM?

That's a tough one but I think I would take the TE, he's already a HOF'mer and although Ozzie has been a very good GM, I would not call him a great one....
I've watched first hand his inability to put an Offense on the field that scared anybody, never picked a #1 wr or a franchise qb until Joe who Mayock found and called Decosta to check out....
He has been very good to great at finding and developing defenses, so while he lacked substantially at finding offensive talent he excelled on the D side of the ball....
Great guy, everyone loves him in Bmore but it is a few years past this time already so while it's sad, it's also joyous...
:yo:Ozzie.....

Ravens will go 2-14 and beat the Steelers twice.

Ozzie was top 5 in this league for a long time.

That is a tough call, but I would say GM because he impacted the team far more. While no GM is batting a 1000, and he's always had blue collar OFC and tough DEF...he Ravens were always stout in the trenches on both sides of the ball and because of that, they were always a tough out even when the skill position guys may not have looked to be top shelf.

Its not even that tough a call really. Its gotta be Ozzie the GM. How many titles did Ozzie the TE win?
