Just thought I’d revisit this after another really good clutch game by Lutz. So far this season dude is 92.3% on both Field Goals and Extra Points only missing 1 each and that came in week 1.

Compare that to Maher who‘s 73.9% on FG’s missing 6, McManus 86.7% missing 2, and Blake Grupe(the guy who beat out Lutz) who is 80% on FG’s missing 4 kicks, and Lutz might have been Denver’s best offseason acqusition.

You are correct, Maher has way more volume due to the Rams Offense being more high powered than ours but we would be actively looking to strangle Lutz if he missed 6 FG’s for us.

Stability in that position is huge and it feels nice to have a good reliable kicker. Still worry about anything over 50 yards though.

Dang near gave me a heart attack multiple times tonight. Was ready to set him on fire.

But he clutched it out and secured the win.

Lutz has been a nice addition overall. Glad he is our kicker.

The 2nd missed extra point was not on Lutz .. Dixon just botched the snap

The FG at the end of the 1st half was a thing of beauty ... The way the FG unit got out there and it went off flawless ... So he missed the one when Buffalo had 12 men on the field -- nobody is gonna remember that

Pretty windy day yesterday. Riley Dixon struggled to figure out the wind on his two punts in the end zone. He also botched the XP.

Special teams has been a bright spot for the Broncos this season. When was the last time we were able to say that? Feels like a decade or more. I think we'll be okay with Dixon and Lutz. Mims has been the highlight!

I don't know that it has exactly been a bright spot. Lutz and Dixon have been not great, but ok, but the last game wasn't good. The missed extra point, botched snap and missed potential game winner were very poor. Lets give some more time, but that was a poor showing calling it like it is.

Yes the mixed extra points have been killer when they happened but a kicker with a 90% field goal percentage I don’t see how you can argue that he hasn’t been great. Yes he cost us the Raiders game but he’s also won us like 3 other ones since then.
