Oh man, I had* a nice maroonish one from the same year. If you put the AC on you might not make it up a small hill.

*my mother got a new car about 10 years later and gave her Chevette
Drove my brothers ‘84 powder blue one when I needed to borrow a car for school

The added bonus was the beanbag ashtray him and his wife kept in it which was always full with roughly 60 Marlboro Red butts in it.

And the smell

My first car out of college was a Pontiac Sunbird. It was all I could afford. I really wanted a Fiero or a Honda CRX (l don't know why), but the insurance was too high.

I drove a Honda CRX for a little while, what a fun car. Super light, had the stick shift and it cornered like it was on rails.

Might not be true, but anyhow, a friend of mine in college who was extremely into cars told me when Pontiac introduced the Fiero they deliberately did not include A/C so fat girls wouldn’t buy them.

3D Bot Maker proved without a doubt that a Fiero >>>>>>>>>> Ferrari.

Did anybody ever have the chance to drive a Buick Grand National?!? That was supposed to be one very fast car.

Never had a chance but what amazed me in the 80's they figured out a way to put out that much torque and horsepower with a v6.

The speakers built into the headrests were a cool touch.
I didn't have one but a (non-fat) girl I dated did.

My first car was a 1986 Chevy Sprint.
Payments on that were $123 per month.
Even though it was only 3 cylinder, my speeding ticket expenses were more.

Friend has one. It’s a super fun car.

My cousin’s first car was an 80s Century his dad drove forever.

The speakers on that old sonofabitch sounded like it had a 12” sub in the trunk.

I rode in a Grand National but never drove one. An absolute beast.

First car I ever owned was a used ‘78 Nova that I bought in early ‘87.

$1200 bucks.

my Nova

1712167101773.png

paid $300 (edit : Facebook tells me I paid $175 lol)

had to punch the dash just to the right above the AM radio to start the car as I turned the key

rusted so bad that when I closed the door, pieces fell off, when I went around a corner pieces would pass me, I could see the road through the floor boards...

living in Calgary we had a popular spot in the early 90s called Electric Ave. @dash would know it.... the preps would park their really nice cars and bikes in front of Three Cheers so I would ALWAYS park that beast right by them.

I once backed it into my apartment parking and it hid the plate showing insurance. city thought it was an abandoned car and put a ticket on it lol

I sold it when I got a new car for a case of beer.
