Today I learned the Islanders were part of the Campbell Conference in 79–80 and 80–81?!?

I have zero recollection of that whatsoever.

Couldn't find the answer on CapFriendly, perhaps you all know.....

Can a player be bought out if they are (a) on LTIR or (b) in Level 3 of the Assistance Program?

Asking for a mile high friend.....

Not sure what this guy is on, but he projects Lindholm's contract at 5x7m. I wouldn't be able to sign that fast enough. Same with his Kent Johnson projection of under 2m for 2 years.

Gut reaction: this was a move requested by McDonough. Preds dont really have serious cap issues for next year, so that is not the reason. He played well for the Preds but not quite at the $6.75M AAV level.

Wouldnt surprise me if consideration was given to a bigger deal that would have moved $$ out from Tampa, but couldnt get both to agree. In any event, not bad to get a 2nd for a 34 yr old with 2 years left on a $6.75M AAV contract.

Preds now have approx $26M in cap space for next year and no real big $$ internal free agents. Probably going to use the cap space on goal scorers (not Marner) but I would definitely throw the McD money at Zadorov.

For Tampa, I have NO idea what they are thinking
