Correct, but he was All-World. (IYKYK)If I recall correctly, the Sabres selected Tom Barrasso straight out of high school.

Phil HouselyAlso, crazy to see a guy pegged to go in round 1 straight out of SAC. Has the NHL ever seen a first round pick out of a high school before?
Have a feeling that room could’ve used a new voice. Guess there will be a lot of turnover there this summer though.Rod stays in Carolina.
Same with Pittsburgh, the difference the status quo in Raleigh is still a viable playoff team.Have a feeling that room could’ve used a new voice. Guess there will be a lot of turnover there this summer though.
I only remember that because in 1981 Tiger Williams made Mike Bossy choose a different number for the All-Star game.Today I learned the Islanders were part of the Campbell Conference in 79–80 and 80–81?!?

Gut reaction: this was a move requested by McDonough. Preds dont really have serious cap issues for next year, so that is not the reason. He played well for the Preds but not quite at the $6.75M AAV level.
Wouldnt surprise me if consideration was given to a bigger deal that would have moved $$ out from Tampa, but couldnt get both to agree. In any event, not bad to get a 2nd for a 34 yr old with 2 years left on a $6.75M AAV contract.
Preds now have approx $26M in cap space for next year and no real big $$ internal free agents. Probably going to use the cap space on goal scorers (not Marner) but I would definitely throw the McD money at Zadorov.
For Tampa, I have NO idea what they are thinking
