Maybe for the first time in like 15 years we can get a little push in the middle. Know nothing about Ragnow he wasn't on my radar at all.

The bad part of that video — the guy says: the players who grade out high in college are the guys who can transfer and be productive early in the NFL. then he says: disregard the fact the other centers on this list haven’t had any success.

I liked the other 2 Centers better, both are better athletes and have a higher ceiling. But looking back on it, Ragnow screams New England Patriots. He's exactly the kind of guy they always draft, really at every pisition but especially on their O-Line. Stayed for his senior year, team captain, smart, loves football, slightly undersized and less athletic but a technician and a battler. Although Swanson was exactly the same, except he started more games, played from a younger age, and was a captain for 2 years instead of one. You probably could have just used The same scouting report for both players though. Let's hope this one doesnt get concussed repeatedly.

Mayock had him as a top 20 prospect, behind Daniels but ahead of Price (and Wynn and Hernandez) I know a couple other guys had him as the number 1 C in the draft.

Weird. Supposedly such a strong deep draft, but Swanson was a similar prospect to Ragnow and went in the 3rd round, while Ragnow graded out into the 1st round, and probably would have went there even if we didn't take him.

Lions selected Arkansas G/C Frank Ragnow with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

Ragnow (6’5/312) made 33 starts for the Razorbacks before suffering a high ankle sprain severe enough to end his season last October, still earning third-team All-American and allowing zero career sacks. After converting from right guard to center, Ragnow earned PFF College’s highest 2017 center grade in the nation despite missing time. Ragnow won with toughness and consistency in the SEC and is an exceptional size-adjusted athlete with sub-five-second speed (4.99) and a 33 ½-inch vertical. Ragnow has a chance to be a long-term solution at guard or center. Ragnow should start over Kenny Wiggins at guard in Detroit but may also compete for the center gig with Graham Glasgow. Apr 26 - 10:21 PM

The Athletic's Jeff Howe reports the Patriots have been "all over" Arkansas G/C Frank Ragnow.

The Patriots have a bigger need at tackle than on the interior, but perhaps they believe Ragnow would be too good to pass up at No. 23. Ragnow seems all but certain to hear his name called on Thursday evening. Apr 26 - 2:01 PM

Well, if he plays guard, it kinda sucks less. Still not happy, but the Lions do need a left guard.

I can confirm the latter as well. We were taking him first round if the Lions did not. TBH I was hoping one of the top 3 would slip to round 2 for the Lions. I am not 100% comfortable with Glasgow as a center.

Stafford should have all day to throw now. At the very least if it means Wiggins is sent packing then it is a huge win.

Why do I have an overwhelming feeling that we will be drafting an white, undersized, wide receiver at some point soon?

No way. We already have White Thunder. I want him active this year.

I have to admit....the phrase, "We drafted a center - Super Bowl, baby." was not something you would hear in 99.99% of the known universe. LOL. We are blessed with comic genius! :)

by comic genius, you mean "born stupidity" ?

I can't tell you whether the guy they drafted was worth it, but the center in football is one of the most complicated and important positions in any sport. Just ask any quarterback.

I feel like the Giants stole my idea of Will Hernandez and a good rb. They may have done slightly better with Barkley though

We should be very happy Daniels wasn't our pick he's a small zone only guy that'll get pushed around in the NFL
