He was 27th I think but they also gave up 4 players total (Torres and 3 good players). Chapman was also A LOT more money so the Yanks were saving (doesn’t matter rich bastards). At the time Torres was a legit prospect.

The Indians brought Mejica up twice and he didnt do much. He has a lot of potential but hasnt done amazing. He is hitting .280 .328 obp with 7 homers in AAA. Kind of a smaller guy for a catcher too, 5’10” 180. We will see how it works out for both ballclubs.

Baseball America had him at #41 they did not give up 3 good players, 2 of the players sucked and one was a guy they just traded to the Cubs for Castro.

I don't mind you disagreeing with me but most GM's do because you almost never see top prospects traded for relievers.

Not really, the Cubs gave up junk and Torres who was like the 50th ranked prospect and 19 years old for Chapman and Chapman is/was a hell of a lot more valuable than Hand is. I didn't say you don't need a bullpen to win I said you don't move top prospects for relievers, you trade a few middle of the road prospects for relievers (Just like the Cubs did for Chapman). Your 20 year comment makes no sense because it has zero to do with what I said.
You’re wrong buddy. Torres was a top of the sport prospect and the Cubs’ best prospect when the Yankees traded for him even though was in Single A. 20 years comment based on relievers being a million times more valuable now than back then.

It’s different nowadays. Teams will pay for dominant RP’s especially when their farm system is loaded. We havd many examples just the last two years of teams giving up some of top prospects for RP’s. If you dont have a dominant or very good BP, you arent winning a championship, plain and simple

You must not know who Clint Frazier is. He is already playing on the Yanks. .390 OBP till he got hurt. A ging too
He’d starting on the Yanks if it wasn’t for the generosity of the Twins for giving Aaron Hicks away!

Frazier was the Indians #1 prospect when they traded him, they traded 3 more players Sheffiled, RHP Ben Heller and JP Feyereisen. Clint Frazier also became the Yankees #1 prospect. Sheffield became their #7 prospect and was Cleveland #5 prospect. Sheffield was still a top 100 prospect

So, I applied for a job with a different company today and if I get it I will no longer be on the hoop during the day...

Stop clapping!
