Easily 6 or 7 game series, gonna be a roller coaster ride to say the least, hope the boys can exercise the demons out of MSG and start a new winning trend there!

Not having home ice might actually help the Flyers. For some reason the Rangers are a much better team on the road than they are at home. Probably because there's a lot of distractions & pressure on Times Square.

This is going to be a good series and I hope we take it to the Rags.

IMO, physicality will be the key in this series. I think we can wear them down over the course of 3-4-5 games.

I've got us in 6.

I don't know if his body can handle the grind anymore, but does anyone else think Gill should be considered for a few games in the playoffs? The guy was a rock the last two games.

Just win one in NY and take it in 6.

Gill has looked good but not good enough to replace Grossmann or Luke. If an injury comes up to either guy he may go in for them due to his size.

Honestly I think they should really consider him for at least one of the first two games - maybe even game 1, going with the hot hand - they need a reliable guy on defense who's smart and may be able to help them in a situation where they can get a road win early on

Also, I think Jason Akeson should be considered for a spot on the playoff roster - he should be given the chance on the third line - Steve Downie is in another world and he can't be trusted while Zac Rinaldo isn't a guy that I want playing on any of the main lines, he's a bomb waiting to happen and while his energy in the regular season was great, I don't think the head coach wants to start answering questions during the playoffs about why he was on the ice in the first place

This is exactly what we have to do. I think we're a much better team when we bang bodies 24/7 and never let up. It's going to pay dividends in a long series. To me, this also means that Rinaldo has to play, but he also must keep it legal.

i agree a lot with this. the way gill has played the last two games, i'd consider playing him over luke to be honest.

akeson looked very good yesterday. offensively he was obviously right at home like everyone expected, but i tried to pay extra close attention to him in teh defensive zone because everyone says that's why he's not in the NHL. i thought he was more than capable, especially playing with read and coots. i thought that line was very dangerous yesterday, both offensively and defensively.

Zac is back and will play his role drawing penalties and keeping guys like Tanner Glass from taking cheap shots at voracek and just crushing people on the boards setting the tone.

I like Gill's big body and he is pretty good on the defensive side of the ledger. I think he should play and so should Rinaldo. We need their physicality.

Who would you sit for Gill?

i would consider sitting Schenn for Gill. dont like to do it to him because of the future and all, but i think in the last few games Gill outplayed him. playoff time, you gotta play the guy who is playing better, can't concern yourself with future development IMO.

Can't say I watched a single Phantoms game, but his -17 is 3rd worst on the team, ironically behind McGinn.

ya, i knew it was an issue. granted, it's tough to take +/- into account on such a bad team. but, he's still the worst comparatively. i just think he'd be ok with read and coots certainly better than playing downie on that line i think?
