New policy on avatars by Hammerdown

I know quite well that all of you here on the Ramspages are great with your avatar selections with the overwhelming majority doing the right thing and having sports-related avatars but HammerDown has issued a new policy on avatars of which we all comply. This is in response to another Google audit and we don't want Google pulling the plug on this site because they pay the bills. Here it is the latest.

Yeah, we discussed banning all avatars and laying the blame squarely on those who refuse to cooperate. Instead we're just at zero-tolerance. If someone is asked to change [their avatar], they have one chance. No explanations, no negotiating, no getting creative with the replacement. What's so difficult about changing it and putting up something related to your favorite team?

Having related this, I'll be watching for any newcomers who insist on not complying. As usual, this new policy will be included in my welcome post to any newbies. As for now, I don't see any violaters as just about everyone here has a sports-related theme to their avi's here on Ramspages. If you don't, you will here from me. You guys are absolutely the best fans!! Thanks.

Hey Retro, haven't been on sportshoopla in awhile. Can you explain what's this all about? Can't have certain avatars because of copyright reasons or because they need to be sports related?

Clarify please...Mine is a sports-related pic as I consider BMX racing a sport...The wording about your favorite team seems less than clear in that area...The pic BTW is my grandson, who happens to be a very accomplished racer because of his work ethic...What say ye ?? I will pull it if need be, but will not be terribly happy about it...

Hey PhilliesRamsSuns and Mikey728. Mikey728, your Avatar is fine. PhilliesRamsSuns. The new policy is in response to the latest Google audit and the "Safe For Work" (SFW) phrase has been used as the guiding principle as to what is acceptable or not. Sports-related is what HammerDown is issuing and that means anything that is related to sports teams except of course suggestive pictures of scantily clad cheerleaders as Google is considering those sorts of pictures not SFW and too suggestive and objectifying. Many people are going avi-less like you PRS, that way they can just meander about and not have to be hassled. If you are unsure about a particular Avi, ask or just post it and if a Mod tells you to change it, just change it. Pretty simple.

Hey guys, retro has a good handle but I want to add a little more clarification. Google is very touchy when it comes to pictures on pages where their ads are.

The line is T&A. No bikini shots, questionable shots, or anything you would care if some random person looked over your shoulder. No bare butts, oiled babes, or anything like that. I don't see anything close to questionable for anyone posting in this thread.
