Baseball been trying this for years. You certainly have to try but I don’t think young people are as enamored with sports as older generations. They may change as they get older, but by and large I don’t think they are going to be able to continue to generate the same numbers as the older crowd goes away.

I’m blaming the death of the big man due to terrible nba rules for this lol

Celtics aren't the only team that needs a conventional big on the roster.....hint hint.
What a lot of people think but I’m not sure Presti does. We will see how it all ends up.

Conventional bigs have given them issues, only makes sense to add one to the rotation.
Only if it doesn’t take away from the overall offense. In truth it doesn’t matter if a big dominates for half a game.

Wouldn't need to be an every game contributor necessarily, just an option for tough match ups

I agree, but the truth is if Presti did he would have got someone like that at the deadline. He is leading the charge for positionless basketball.

I don't know as that they are less enamored as much as they consume sports differently. Most of what they get is highlights and parts of games through their phone, ipad or laptop. They are more fans of players rather than teams.

It's likely why you see even the NFL starting to make deals with streaming companies.

I didn't get that.......wonder if same thing happened when facemasks were added?

Probably.

I know hockey fans/players were mad when they had to start wearing helmets.

Seems pretty stupid to play that sport without one today.

Heard today that the only concern is that those Guardian caps could get caught on another helmet potentially causing a neck injury. Don't know the likelihood of that, but it was mentioned.

And fans of daily gambling on sports more than actual fans

And that is a fair criticism.

The way that they look isn’t.

Player safety is way more important.

The fact that they look like something you’d put on the slow kid in class who eats paste is 100% a main reason for less adoption.

Nah.

If that is the helmet the NFL adopts and that all players wear?

Hell, the cool kids will be wearing those to school.

I mean this is basic innovation

Make it functional, then improve the design/aesthetic

They’ll get there

I’m just saying the reason it’s not the it thing yet is that

I think the main reason it wasn't done yet is that it required league approval and the NFL is a league that will fine you for having your socks too high.
