The point doesn’t change. Players today team up regardless if they can or not. Hence basketball was better back then without all the colluding and buying titles

Um, wut?

Thanks for letting us all know that you aren't someone to take seriously in a basketball discussion. Saves folks from wasting their time.

the entire 80s were shaped by 2 ridiculously lopsided trades by bad owners. The Bulls were in position to get Pippen because they lost in rd 1. The lotto was rigged for Ewing. We seem to take issue with players having control rather than the above.

And incredibly the Lakers "won" 2 coin flips just to get Magic and Worthy.

At least be honest with yourself about what it is that you don’t like.

If a group of old men drafts well, makes a couple good trades and assembles a dominant team like what Reinsdorf and Krause did with the Bulls, you are good with it.

But heaven forbid if players take some agency over their careers and decide they want to play somewhere together.

So triggering.

When you consider what The Cavs did for the Lakers to get Worthy it's hard not to think there was some under the table action that the league kicked Stepien.

additionally the league decided a 33 year old Goodrich was worth 2 first round picks? just wild stuff.

That would be like Detroit signing James Harden from Philly last offseason with cap space and Detroit being forced to give up 2 first round picks to do it.

Right that’s almost the same thing right? You that stupid? Building a team that way says a lot more about a team and winning titles than players saying hey guys let’s join up. Come on, no way people around here are this fucking dumb

Only 1 dummy here.

However the team is formed, they must come together and outplay everyone else between the lines.

That is what matters. Winning is all that matters.

Seriously?
What does it mean to say players team up today if they can OR NOT? Or not? If they can't, then they can't team up today.
