These Cyclone's were severely underrated.
They could be had with a 429 and heavy duty everything
The 351's ran really good too.
The 302's/not so much/

Well,
don't know if all that is right, but that's how I remember it.

Yeah, the Cleveland's ran like big blocks almost.
The Windsor were not as hot but they were solid engines.

I had the Torino with the 302, I wasn't winning any races with it but I never had a lick of trouble either.

Yes
Great engines. Most were windsor trim for ford and mercury.
Which are the heads.

Makes a difference too. I felt it.
Had a friend have this 1971 Cougar with the 351 Cleveland.
It ran good.

It was brown just like this one.
Looks identical.
They always bought some womans hand me down cars.
All nice and low miles and taken care of.

Ran upper 15 second quartermiles, all factory.

That's a beauty.
A set of Magnum 500's ore Keystone Classics and it's perfect.

@Godstree
I know a guy that bought a 68' camaro in great condition. Has a 326/automatic. Not an SS or RS but really nice for an old car.

I personally prefer the 2nd generation like a 1971 model
Something along these lines.

I love the split bumper Camaro. I had a Z28 in H.S.

I thought it was fast ....back then. LOL.

My father-in-law has a '72 GTO that he has agreed to pass down to me (and my wife) when he decides to part with it. He's been a vehicle electrician for over 40 years and made a bunch of special (some illegal) modifications to it - like button-operated smoke screens and stuff like that. Gon' be sweeeeeet...

The Windsor was the better motor. That's why they made more of them. They were both small blocks to begin with. The only real difference were the heads. People have been saying so many things about these motors they have taken on a life of their own.

To be honest, neither one is worth a shit.

Go get a small block Chevy and drop that in there....

Nope. Nice car though. I am looking at picking up a GT though.
Lets see if Ford can do a better job dialing in the 10 speed auto

I like Mustangs! 68 Fast Back would be my choice.

Well then, at least we finally agree on something!!

I'm old school! Mine has a tremac 5 speed. I just love manual trannys! Its just so much more fun to drive. Automatics are boring! :yawning:

There is a great driving connection with a manual.
I'm rather arthritic so I'm not looking for all that extra work . I know I'm sad too
Haven't tried a car with the flipper pedels
I like the old mustangs, but I'm looking for more of a GT tourer car

You wouldn't like a Cobra then. It is hard to get in and out of, small door, small(low back)seat. It has a fat transmission tunnel, so when you are seated(passenger side) your feet are shoved to the right. You have to be careful not to burn your leg stepping over the side pipes when getting out. Did I mention that it doesn't have a roof? You have to pay close attention to the local weather forecasts. :rain:

....and you'll be yawning while you watch that 10 speed auto trans equipped vehicle's rear lights slowly disappear from your view.

Back in the 60s, 70s and maybe early 80s, a manual tranny was probably the better option. But not today. LOL!

You can't shift a vehicle anywhere near as fast or accurate as the computer tells that automatic to shift. Not even close. You can set the shift points now with a programmer to shift at the red-line or slightly above....and get this....it will do it exactly like that...every time.
