Just saw this and thought it was worth a mention... Jeff Goodman joined ESPN over the summer, after being with Fox, and then with CBS sports. Most people know that he attended the UofA, and some have accused him of being an anti-homer, in that he goes out of his way to appear unbiased, and often comes off as anti-UofA. Kind of like a national version of Greg Hansen.

The funny thing is, I was reading his bio and something jumped out at me:

Jeff Goodman joined ESPN in June of 2013 as a college basketball Insider. He was previously a senior basketball columnist at CBSSports.com from 2011 to 2013 and held a similar position at FOXSports.com from 2006 to 2011.
A native of Boston, Mass., Goodman grew up watching the old Big East, and his passion for college basketball grew when attending the University of Arizona -- despite the fact that the Wildcats went out in the first round of the NCAA tournament in three of his four years in Tucson. He worked for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, was a national writer for the Associated Press and was also a frequent contributor for several publications, including the USA Today, the Washington Post and the Boston Herald.

I had to laugh at how unnecessary this highlighted sentence is. The writer of this bio must be a fan of another pac12 team. Pretty funny, really.

... point being that somebody went out of their way to put a negative spin on it. It just as easily could have read:

"his passion for college basketball grew when attending the University of Arizona. The team won three pac12 championships and reached the Final Four during his four years in Tucson."

Exactly. Or, they could have included that it was the first four years of AZ's record-tying 25 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. Either way.

Of course, this is probably the same writers of Eamonn Brennan's insightful bio, where the most insightful take into his life consists of his bachelor pad, dog, and "crippling addiction to caffeine". Smart bunch over there.
