That would be dumb.

Of course the geniuses at KFAN don't know squat about cfb/the Gophers and wouldn't know what's in UMn's best interest or what their best move would be to do right now.
Ah, the guy that has been a sports writer for 30 years is the idiot, not you. Got it.

The same Phil Knight that uses child slave labor to make his millions?

And is Phil a "sports alum"??? I was restricting my thoughts to actual athletes who played on a Gopher sports team.
And sure, people know about Nike, but most don't have a clue who owns/runs Nike. Cfb fans know about Phil Knight, but otherwise the vast majority of the public don't have a clue who makes their Nikes, or that child slave labor was used to make them. It's a shame they don't.

And I only named "famous" people, not any "infamous" people. It's one thing to be recognized, it's another to be respected.

And the NHL pays NHLers more than the NFL pays NFLers, on average. SO you are wrong, some DO care about hockey. Otherwise there wouldn't be DOZENS of former Gophers making MILLIONS a year playing hockey.

As for Flair, doesn't matter if he embraces his going to UMn or not, doesn't change the fact he did go there. He went there at a time they were having a WSU moment, meaning they were sucking at everything for awhile there, lol. Like WSU has for almost their entire history as a University.

But the wrestlers BEFORE Flair and the wrestlers AFTER Flair all acknowledged and embraced UMn. If you don't know who Verne Gagne is, you are probably a youngen, or not into wrestling at all. He's the godfather of pro-wrestling, started the AWA.

And you think 99% wouldn't know Brooks name? Well, that's inaccurate, but even so, include the term "Miracle on Ice" and that 99% drops to 50%. Tell them the coach in the movie Miracle and they'd remember. I'd claim lower but the VAST majority of the American public are uneducated morons, especially the youngest generations.

Doesn't change my point. NO ONE knows who any Oregon sports alums are, outside of Oregon fans and uber diehard sports fans who know far too much about sports and have never gotten laid.
Oh you love the goalposts with what counts for a school? Just like you started a thread about football, got proven wrong and went to hockey.

Really?

2002 they got CRUSHED by both of the legit ooc opponents they played.

7-25 vs Ohio St and
14-34 vs Oklahoma.

and they lost to 7-6 Washington.

Hardly worthy of bowing down to them or something, lol.

Seems the only teams they were able to beat were weak ass Pac teams??? UMn's 2003 team also went 10-3, how was their 2002 season any better?

2018 WSU went 11-2, and beat ISU??? in their bowl game? lol WOW, Iowa St, lol.

2019 UMn went 11-2, and beat Top Ten ranked PSU and #14 ranked Auburn in their bowl game, FAR MORE impressive than beating fugging Iowa St, lol.

And I don't mean to nitpick but WSU has NEVER won a Rose Bowl. EVER!!!
Minnesota hasn’t been to a Rose Bowl since segregation was a thing.

Goalposts have ALWAYS been the same.

The mission of a college/university is to provide it's students with a quality education/training to go out into the world and be successful at whatever it is they do.

It's NOT to win cfb games at all costs and/or to entertain cfb fans as much as possible.

If CFB would have went to a 12 team playoff instead of the BCS in 1998, here is how many times your school would have made the playoffs.

11 schools would have never made a playoff. Minnesota is one of the 11. LMAO - HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA

How is Ohio State not on this list? Between 1998 and 2014 they finished a season ranked in the top 5 nine times. Ten times if you count 2012, they couldn't go to a bowl game that season.

There's a certain Gophers fan that shall remain nameless that needs to STFU once and for all about Minnesota football. What they accomplished decades ago means nothing today.

Yeah but if there was a 12 team playoff pre 1960 no one would’ve heard of Notre Dame because Minnesota would have all the tv contracts and prestige.
