Don't mind seeing him go, he's not worthy of a big pay day. On the other side its just another example of this incompetent organization. Another wasted 1st round pick.

I was hoping for a little more especially going to a division team.

He deserves to be on a winning team as far as I see it from a fan perspective.

Most of these players on the roster have never played for a team, at any level, that loses games as much as the Lions.

Look at all the good defenders we could have gotten instead of him, including ed oliver who I was in love with

The more I think about it, the less I like the trade.

If they're pleased & content with Brock & Mitchell, I can kinda deal with the trade eventhough they got hosed.

But if they turn around and use a pick on a TE now, I'll be livid.

Lions aren't going to contend when you factor in the void of talent on the defensive side of the ball plus a questionable QB and not having money to do anything in free agency that would have turned the tables in 2021 or 2022 or even in the upcoming 2023 season.

There's no reason to spend money in the 2023 season even if they had it for high-priced UFA when they're still 1-2 more seasons away from contending to be a playoff team.

I don't see that trade as getting hosed. Even if Brad Holmes had waited until this upcoming off-season or on draft night 2023, the likelihood that he would've received any better compensation is merely questionable at best. Fans, in general, are forgetting the current overall outlook of this team's roster, future money to work with, and finally having a TE that was looking for a payday that's not good at blocking and has only averaged 4 receptions per game and 44 yards receiving per game for his career with the Lions and that includes two years with Stafford.

I could possibly see where maybe Holmes drafts another late round TE in 2023 and quite possibly signs a veteran - cheap 1 year deal - to mentor Wright, Zylstra and Mitchell. If Holmes spends a pick on a TE earlier than day 3, I too will question that type of move.

There's not much left to sell. Players are either injured currently or oft injured or not much value in the majority of players on this team - unless the Colts might be interested in trading for another QB for the third consecutive year- in which I surely wouldn't mind it being Goff should Holmes draft his QB of the future next draft.

That’s what we’re here to do, is to go somewhere and win some games.,” Hockenson said. “That’s kind of the first time I can say that.”

Hock doesn't score on the Wright play
He drops it, or he doesn't get off the line of scrimmage. Maybe he catches it but he doesn't have that run after catch gene that great modern tight ends possess.

I hope that play is a confidence booster for Wright to realize he can be more that a role player in this offense.
