Instead of saying you know more, prove it.
Compare Malone and Duncan. It is hard to compare from eras, but I'm sure we can come to a conclusion.
I know Malone is a top 50 player of all-time, what would Timmy be?
Top 10 or top 15?
That was in 1980-81, McHale's rookie season (and Bird's 2nd) He avg. 8.5pts and 3.5 boards in just over 17mpg in those playoffs. He was still raw and learning the game.Talking about great players on bad teams carrying them.....
Moses Malone carried a below .500 Houston team to the NBA Finals and had them 2-2 with the Celtics after four games.
The Bird-McHale etc 80s Celtics.
The other 4 starters were: Billy Paultz, Robert Reid, Mike Dunleavy and Tom Henderson.
Yeah....
How could I prove it? Who is qualified to judge? If you disagree then you get to say I don't know what I'm talking about. Timmy is top 15 for sure.Instead of saying you know more, prove it.

Which 3 top players were they missing? The Lakers were swept because three of their top 5 players were hobbled. The Lakers without their starting lineup were still the second best team in the league. Moses and Dr. J really peaked then. My Dad took me to see both of these teams in Atlanta at the Omni in '83 and I got my pic standing about 10' away from Magic before the game. I remember Chocolate Thunder doing 360's during warmups and wowing the crowd.

Yeah Timmy D is top 15 for sure....If he won a title this year I would of put him in the top 10
I like PER but its not even close to the end all be all. You can take a lesser role for the good of the team and wind up lowering your PER. You cant measure leadership and a players affect on opposing defensive or offensive schemes. Good example. I played PG and SG in high school. We were playing this team that had a guy that was killing us in the post. Coach put me on him on the defensive end where I fronted him. We won but I only scored 5 points. How do you measure stuff like that?PER is a good tool.

Do you not understand how absurd that is? So in other words, if the Spurs had scored just a few more points in one single game, Timmy bumps five other all-time greats out? Man, you can't be serious. When did you start watching basketball? I'm going to guess that you were too young to see David Robinson at his peak. Am I right?
