wow...very similar to "Fish Soup" we got from the food network sight once...bastards, stole the idea from this.

I usually make a big batch of cioppino for xmas.....it's been in my family tradition for decades. My dad made it years ago during the holidays when I lived on the east coast, and he'd use maryland blue, or softshell crab, or even once in awhile fresh maine lobster. Dungeness is the most tasty though.....imho

Living in FL we get lots of fresh seafood, but growing up in Cali I know Dungeness is simply the BEST. My local fish house has tons of fresh caught, but I am sure he will be bringing in some Dungeness too. A bushel of oysters, a 100 middlenecks, some fresh caught mahi, that's Christmas in FL baby.
