If you group our WR's and TE's together we have done more than nothing. CT is a proven 3rd down back. Doctson had 6 td last year. Crowder is a proven slot WR. Richardson has deep threat capabilities. Smith has more than enough weapons to succeed in the passing game.

So Breed are you saying that Cousins and Mahomes will have better stat years than Smith?

I am saying KC will have better stats than Alex Smith, and it won’t really be close. I think KC will have 500 yards more passing and 5-10 TDs more than Smith.

Mahomes...I don’t care about Kansas City.

Me neither but why do you care about the Vikings? Cousins is gone - deal w/ it. Personally I could give a crap about him at this time (don't wish him anything bad - just don't care). This is all in the past - all that matters Redskins wise is how Smith & the team do - Cousins is a non-factor in all of this.

i dont think after 3 years of the anti KC crowd doing its overboard thing that "deal with it " is going to come off as satisfying to many here at all

i hope the skins do great but too many open wounds just to let it go

It isn’t a matter of caring about the Vikings. It is a matter of knowledge m and their new QB, Kirk Cousins. My expectation of statistical comparison based on my level of knowledge between KC/Vikings and Alex Smith/Redskins leads be to the belief that KC will have at least 500 yards more passing and 5-10 more touchdowns.

I guess it would have been better to say I don’t have enough knowledge of Patrick Mahomes to make an educated guess.

Again, look at the questions posed or the conversation. I am answering a question posed by others or challenging their beliefs with my own. I am not the one continually bringing up KC.

Washington Redskins: Is this Jay Gruden’s best roster yet?

i would say yes . we have a good RB our LOS is better and we have some more depth then usual

I concur, yes I would think so. We have a good RB indeed however it will depend on the play from the offensive line. We definitely improve our run def. All in all it now falls on coaching staff and some luck with the injury bug we just might put it all together hopefully. I not a Gruden fan but I am a Skins fan and always hope for the best.

Grudens offense is focused on the passing game. So 27-30 Total Td's is not out of the question for Smith. Our running game should be better this year so it should help this offense out a lot. Kc averaged 4000 yards and 30 TD's with no running game. I don't see Smith has a drop off.

Do you mean total touchdowns as in both passing n running or just TD passes?

Either way Smith has only totaled 27 TDs in a season once and that was last year with 26 TD passes/1 rushing TD. In 12 years Smith has only passed for 20+ TDs just 3 times. 23 in 2013, 20 in 2015, 26 in 2017.

But this year he gets to throw to Paul Richardson and Josh Doctson...they sky is the limit.

Smith also has not played in Gruden's system/scheme. Let's see how the 3 year comparison plays out with Smith/Gruden.

I take what you're saying to mean. You believe Jay Gruden is a good coach with a pretty good scheme. That a reasonably talented QB should be able to thrive in. If that's the case. Isn't the same thing said about Andy Reid when it comes to QB coaching and schemes?

Truth be told. I'm not as concerned with Smith's stats as my last couple posts may imply. I'm far more impressed with Smith's win total, 53 total wins and winning 10 or more games 4 of those 5 seasons. If he can QB this team to a couple 11 win seasons, a 12 win season, a 10 win season and a 9 game season in the next 5 years. I could get with that, regardless how many TD passes or total TDs Smith ends up with.

If Smith, Doctson, and Richardson all perform like dean expects them to. There shouldn't be any problems.........right?

You can make the argument that Smith has more weapons now then he has ever had.

To which you could argue, Smith was on more balanced teams during those times. Perhaps a strong run game negates the bloated passing yards, TD's etc when you are playing catch up football often. We'll see I guess. Sure looking for Guice to finally bring some balance to this offense and perhaps if we get really serious, we go out and find a solution to our LG situation that trumps Lavaou, Nyseke, Catalina etc.

You can sneak into the zoo at night and run around kicking lions, tigers and bears, oh my! all up in the ass and shit as well. Good luck with that and all.

26 and 23 TDs are Smith's career highs in TD passes, his TD/INT ratio is roughly 2 to 1, he's thrown for 4000 or more yards once and with a career 6.9 ypc. He's done his share of dinking n dunking, playing it safe, playing not to lose, etc etc however you wanna label it in his 12 year career. There's nothing about Smith's numbers that say bloated in any shape, form, or fashion.

Smith, at least imo, epitomizes the middle of the road game manager QB to a tee. He probably won't lose you a game, but he's not gonna win you many either. At least not when it truly counts as his W/L record in the playoffs seems to attest to. Smith's only saving grace, again, imo, is that the last 4 years of his career have pretty much been the best stretch of his career. I'm thinking, hoping really, that Smith has went Rich Gannon on us.

Nyseke has promise....though maybe not at LG. Yeah, I'm putting a whole lot on a rookie RB, rookie DL and a 2nd year DL this year as well.

If made, that argument would fail. And I mean, Dead On Arrival.

With the 2017 Chiefs, he had pro bowlers at all 3 skill spots:
RB K.Hunt 1,300yds rushing, 455yds receiving, 11 TDs
WR T.Hill 1,183yds receiving, 7 TDs
TE T.Kelce 1,038yds receiving, 8 TDs

Washington doesn't have weapons that come anywhere close to that.

Except in Deans world where pro bowls don’t matterc
