I think you guys got an excellent player, regardless of whether i think it was a bit of a reachI wasn't expecting it either but I trust Carroll a lot more to mold a defense then an offense. They haven't hit on a RB of any kind unless you count trading for Lynch in forever. I can live with it given its likely a transition year but its extremely risky no doubt.
What I don't get is why everyone seems to think the 49ers are going to be good
The wheels are gonna fall off next year. I don't see how they survive that schedule against the vikings, packers, lions, chargers, chiefs, raiders, panthers, and cowboys. Not to mention their own division with two emerging teams and they can't even sweep the other one. No one wants to even think about it but Seattle will be below .500.
Midnight Angel? This has a hint of that butch, (can't remember his/her name) that talked smack right before the Hawks game back and bitch slapped the Packers in that playoff game........
What was it's name?????
Good points. I guess my feelings are based on the fact that I don't see Jimmy G as quite as good as many do. IMO Sea is a better team than SF. I think Wilson is better than Jimmy G and I don't see too many other places where I think SF is enough better to make up the difference. Yeah, you get OL for sure, but I still see Sea as a little bit better team.Even as a fan I think they are starting to get into that overhyped range but I do believe they'll put together a 9 to 10 win season next year. I don't buy the stock that they are a deep playoff run kind of team but a wild card spot and a playoff win isn't out of the question.
I'm a firm believer that Jimmy G will be one the next great QBs in the league and we've seen that great QB play can really propel even an average roster.
I know it's only been 7 games but if you watched him closely in those games he just checks all the boxes you want to see in an elite QB.
Accurate
Quick release
Great pocket presence and the ability to make those slight moves in the pocket like the great ones do
Quickly diagnoses defenses and makes the correct decision with the football.
Courage to attempt tough throws
And you can't say he's great because he's a system QB or that he had a ton of talent around him.
The only warts I've seen in his game is he's inconsistent with his deep ball due to some sloppy footwork and at times he can have that Romo or Farve in him in that his confidence leads to some throws he shouldn't attempt.

Not sure you want to use the Patriots as a reason a first round RB pick was a good idea. First of all, they divide the RB reps among 3-4 players and are typically drafting role players. Plus, they rarely draft RBs early:
2014 4.130 James White
2011 2.56 Shane Vereen
2011 3.73 Stevan Ridley
2007 6.208 Justise Hairston
2006 1.21 Lawrence Maroney
2004 4.128 Cedric Cobbs
2003 7.234 Spencer Nead (FB)
2002 7.237 Antoine Womack
2000 3.76 JR Redmond
1999 2.46 Kevin Faulk
1998 1.18 Robert Edwards
1998 3.81 Chris Floyd
1997 3.61 Sedrick Shaw
1996 4.124 Kantroy Barber
1996 6.195 Marrio Greer
1995 3.74 Curtis Martin
1995 6.195 Dino Philyaw
23 years since drafting Curtis Martin, and they only kept him for 3 years. They have not been a team that builds around a 3 down back through the draft.

Absolutely not. We got rid of 2 players in Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett who were nothing but cancers in our locker room. We have a good thing going right now with the young secondary and our new offense. Given that we won't be below .500
See you don't need to play their game. Hyperbole ain't needed. Sherman and Bennet were a fuck of a lot more than JUST cancers in the Seattle locker room.
Was it time for them to move on? Absofuckinglutley. Were they nothing but cancers? Fuck no. C'mon dude.
Link on Bennett?
I'm assuming you're counting Sherman going off on the sidelines as 'coming to blows.'
Meh.
They did not appreciate his antics on the sidelines and he was seen arguing with the coaches.
Right, so NOT coming to blows. AGAIN, hyperbole ain't necessary. It was time for both to move on. They're gone.
Be happy with the Lombardi trophy 'we' got.
