Thru the 80's, this is kind of what the regular season looked like. Usually over matched and not very competitive. Thank goodness those days haven't been around for a long time.
I personally remember the 80's because of Charles Martin picking up McMahon well after the whistle and slamming him to the ground. Probably cost us a few SBs. As soon as you guys lose AR you will all have 80's type memory's in the 2000's. I don't mean this in a rude way, just you have had great luck at the QB position for 20+ years and that can't last forever.
Yes I do believe we could have won multiple SBs with Jimmy Mac. He was not great but he was good enough to win with. That team only needed average at the QB position to be great. The game was more team oriented back then.
Gotta love the Bears fans who hang everything on ONE good year! If no 85 Bears would they be wearing paper bags over their heads like the old Saints fans used to?The 86 Def is the one that holds all the records, the 85 def won the SB. We had a great D and run game for years. If we had a QB we would have had a really good shot at more SBs.
The Packers of the 60's had the most dominant teams in NFL history. 5 NFL Championships in one decade.Don't be jelly because that team is remembered. One day you'll have a team worth remembering too.
I'll stick to my original statement. Homer or not his last post made it very apparent that he is.He isn't an idiot, just a homer.
My secret, lots of practice.God you're an idiot Noon.
Sorry if you don't like it but the 85 Bears team was special and still gets talked about till this day. They still compare every great defense to that 85 team. The talking heads still bring that team up a lot. It's not just homer Bear fans. That team is better remembered then any team in the history of sports. Because it was a special team full of nut jobs. He'll I still remember the 79 Steelers team for much of the same reasons. Some teams stand the test of time and for good reasons.I'll stick to my original statement. Homer or not his last post made it very apparent that he is.
Name me 3 players from that team? without looking them up. I bet you could name half that 85 Chi team and your not even a Bear fan.The Packers of the 60's had the most dominant teams in NFL history. 5 NFL Championships in one decade.
Cmon now the aints were really really bad. We put out many good teams even if we did not win the hardware. Aints were in last place 20 years running.Gotta love the Bears fans who hang everything on ONE good year! If no 85 Bears would they be wearing paper bags over their heads like the old Saints fans used to?
I could name almost everyone from those great Packers teams. The 1985 Bears were just a fart in the wind.Name me 3 players from that team? without looking them up. I bet you could name half that 85 Chi team and your not even a Bear fan.
And there you go. Well the talking heads and coaches and players have all made picks in a top ten ever show. I'll bet you know the rest. And I'll rest my case and move on. Good talking to (some of)you guys and good luck this week. I hate SEA.I could name almost everyone from those great Packers teams. The 1985 Bears were just a fart in the wind.
It's difficult to remember many great teams over many years vs a 2 year run. It's ok though, I'm sure you don't understand because of your lack of a comparison.Don't be jelly because that team is remembered. One day you'll have a team worth remembering too.
