Uhhh really? So teams like A&M FSU Minnesota Texas Florida Ohio State Nebraska UCLA Washington Miami Tennessee Penn State Michigan Maryland Standford Clemson Iowa State Oklahoma Oklahoma lite. Arizona State. Florida South Carolina. Purdue. Are not spending millions trying to buy the Next Saban. Also Texas offered Saban 10mill a year and he turned it down for whatever reason fish bowl I guess. But don't for one second think that teams are not buying coaches and spending millions on improving their facilities t Nebraska can't buy better facilities everything's pretty much equal on the facilities level when you get to the upper echelon Blue Blood programs the only difference we can do is spend more money on a coach then non blue blood programs which is why we got Frost in the first place. Do you think there wouldn't have been a bidding war if say last year was Sabans last year? You don't think Alabama wouldnt have matched every single red nickel and Penny Nebraska would have offered Frost? It's a shame that you think that tradition still holds water with people when it comes to being a head coach of someplace. If Frost would not have played here he would never have come here. he would have stayed at UCF. Or taken a different job
J what I'm trying to say is that if we had any amount of success in basketball the way we did in football do you think we just need to twiddle our thumbs and go and spend bottom dollar for an up-and-coming coach or should we go and spend what it takes to get the very best. You really think Alabama is going to sit on some coach and hope and pray that it works out or do you think they're going to go out and get a proven winner when Saban retires? do you think they're going to hire Mike Riley or do you think they're going to go higher Jimbo Fisher or Dabo Swinney or any other head coach that has had any amount of success like a National championship. I'm willing to bet that the next head coach at Alabama is going to have a National Championship under his belt and not be Dicking off in Corvallis Oregon. Alabama is going to keep that freight train chugging as long as possible. They are not going to let historically the best program just die.
So when Nebraska and every single other Big Ten school gets 52 million dollars a year from the TV contract how should we spend that should it be a six-year head coach in basketball that's gone 500 or should we just shoot and aim a little higher
How are the Yankees doing how are the Dodgers doing how are the Patriots doing. We spent $160 on a basketball arena for the basketball team when was the last time we put a hundred sixty million dollars into any 1 educational program at UNL. All I'm saying is that we have the money why don't we spend it wisely unproven coaches it's going to keep butts in the seats and revenue High it just makes sense to me to do it I don't know why you're arguing it. And yes I would gladly pay Jay Wright $5000000 a year just like we're paying Frost.
Welcome to the bus. I have been driving this bus since he was hired. Was a joke from day one!!! Hiring a coach with exactly 1 year of a volunteer coach as his entire coaching experience going into a brand new conference that is not known for its baseball prowess. Just another in the long line of Osborne failures outside of being a coach.
Although, being a former Husker guarantees greatness and success as a coach at Nebraska right?
Jed who should we try and get? Keep in mind we have a very limited budget and almost no resources to use. Do we still have Will Bolts MySpace screen name?
