always wondered why something like that couldn't happen. That would be HUGE in the offroad market, would make trailblazing a lot easier. We already are used to dropping massive coin on tires and the smart ones only use their rigs off road...perfect market for that tech to be developed first.

The advantages of such a product are evident — you only deploy the studs when you need them, like on icy or hilly terrain, leaving you with regular winter tires when the surface improves. people run studded snow tires all the time this would allow them to retract them in the dry conditions
