Didn't have Roby or Barnett. Shazier also missed some time with cramps. There came a point in the game where not 1 single starter from 2012 was on the field for the defense.

I will admit, though. If they think they can play zone against Cal, we're fucked. We need to mix it up with a LOT of different blitz packages. The new QB at Cal can throw but it also a little mistake-prone. If we can mix it up with our play-calling, we can contain their passing game.

The one I'd really like to see go is 1 point conversions. Offer a team 7 points for scoring a touchdown or 6 points and an option to go for 2.

To Mamba and also the USC fans, while I still don't think USC is good, Cal has a LONG way to go. I really believed in Dykes, but it looks like as the season has gone on people are picking up on his gameplan. He needs to do whatever he can do to get something of a defense or he will end up getting canned.

lol well in the mix for first. even still they have a chance to rebound for a decent season on what looked like could be real ugly...cal and Colorado coming up to winnable games...hopefully offense will make even further strides. defense is one of the best ive seen at sc for awhile...Arizona st game was kinda flukish. pressure on defense to make plays when offense had several 3 and outs in 2nd half

The new coaching staff has them playing really well. I was saying all offseason we were lucky to get USC early. A rematch played right now would be a much closer game.

Agree. I'd have no issue with Coach O getting the job. If he doesn't, Haden has said that the new coach will be strongly encouraged to keep Coach O on staff!!
