Anything with pickles on it. Even if you pick the pickles off, you can still taste them.

I ate uni (sea urchin) in Japan once on dare...I'm done with it.
Even the Japanese sales manager who was buying me dinner told me, "Uni...is not my favorite."

Not a fan of Uni huh? It's definitely one of those things you either love or hate...To me, it's like a fresh creamy taste of the ocean...I love it myself...

My Taiwanese buddy who challenged me likes it, but he did say his initial reaction was not favorable. I think we ended up ordering 6 pieces and I ate three, so I gave it more than a little taste. The Japanese guy who was buying me dinner made a tiny face of horror when I mentioned it, but he ate his three pieces, too. I think we got good stuff, we were in a very nice hotel in Hamamatsu (Act City) and the shit was sure not cheap.
The rest of the meal was outstanding and I told my dinner companion (truthfully) that it was the best sushi I had eaten. He mentioned this to the staff and we had a massive bowfest upon leaving, even the frickin busboys came out and were bowing to me. If I bowed back to somebody, that seemed to trigger them to bow again, so it took a while to get out of there.

BBQing counts as cooking, right??

I guess not all of us are so manly that we eat only dirt and rocks, so "Food" seems like a reasonable topic.

Well, most Chefs are men and most professional kitchens are full of men. Plus, many men cook at home these days because their girlfriends or wives cook like shit, or don't cook at all lol :suds:

I don't know if it's a freshness or quality thing, but sometimes uni is really fucking good. Often times it is... challenging.

I'll only eat it if I know the sushi chef and he tells me I should, or if I'm at a really high-end place like Nobu or whatever.

Has anyone tried the flavor changing tic tacs? The cherry cola ones are suprisingly good. The peach lemonade are disgustingly bad. You wouldn't think those two flavors could clash in any way, tic tac found a way to do it lol

I've not, but diet cherry coke from a fountain is fucking good.

Hmmm, Vegamite... When I was in Australia had that, and never again.

Not a big fan of octopus flavored ice cream either..

I've had Vegemite but not in Austraila, which would make a hell of a lot more sense if I did lol :suds: its definitely an aquired taste. I understand its basically a byproduct of beer production, is that right???
