Buck the Genius decides to switch Feldman and Hammel's spots in the rotation after the all-star break. So instead of lining up Hammel against Wade Davis(1 win in last 11 starts, 10 ERA in last 4 starts), he lines Hammel up against a lefty with a 2.00 ERA(Chen). To seal the loss, Buck rests Wieters for this game. Wieters could've hit a flyball in the 9th batting behind Chris Davis.
For the crucial weekend series, Hammel will be lined up against Lester instead of the Red Sox's minor league filler.

Hopefully the Mariners can finally lose a game and give Joe Saunders back to us.
