There are only two options regarding commitment; you're either in or you're out. There’s no such thing as life in-between. -Pat Riley

And, in the case of our leader, the diva - He looks to be out as far as committment goes. His commitment is just non-existent unless he gets calls to go his way, as we have seen far too many times.

Where we differ is that you seem to think that Spolestra is perfect, and most of us think he needs to tweak his system.

You really need to work on your reading comprehension; among other things. Never said Spo was perfect - far from it. But he is the least of our problems. He isnt the one out there settling for 3’s, getting out-efforted on both ends of the floor, missing free-throws, not getting back on defense because he is standing around crying to refs - sitting out games. Spo and the rest of the coaching staff are doing all they can to get things right, whether you agree with the approach or not - it doesnt even matter because your just some chump fan - whether you agree with the approach or not does not matter - what matters is the players executing the game plan, whatever it may be - and they are NOT and thats on THEM.

Like I said, if they were executing the game plan, and winning games, none of this would even be up for debate. One way or another, the wins will come - the playoffs will come and the Heat will be in it - and even if they arent -- life goes on.

Its a sports board...we write nonsense and talk about our teams and play Monday morning QB. It is all in good fun. The sun will come out tomorrow.......

I say this respectfully, and you know we have seen it before - The fact that we play the Suns tonight and that they were in an OT matchup, does not increase our chances of winning tonight even if its the second night of a b2b for them. We have played games in which we had similar “advantage” and lost and done so in embarrassing fashion. It means nothing - especially for the Heat.

The heat need to make sure they work on all their issues before this game starts if they want a chance to win

Erik Spoelstra's constant shuffling seems indecisive and weak. Players respect coaches who are strong and fearless, yet this season is mired in soft platitudes such as "process." No questioning the Heat's work ethic, but it needs to be a focused one, and right now there is a lack of direction. It shows on the court with the players not knowing exactly what to do. Just too much indecision. -- Bill, Weston.

And i wouldn't bank of 2016 free agency, in getting a top class player by not showing that you are able to compete with the current players that's on your roster, players these day are looking to pair up with other winning (HEALTHY) athletes that gives them a fair chance of winning...

A: I'm going to disagree, only because the injuries and illnesses have not allowed for any sort of continuity. Look, Dwyane Wade missed more than two weeks with his hamstring. Luol Deng has dealt with wrist and hand injuries. Norris Cole missed time with his dislocated finger and then his illness. That's three opening-night starters right there. Only now is Josh McRoberts coming around after his toe and foot issues, and no one is quite sure when/if Danny Granger will be ready. Then there's Chris Andersen's high ankle sprain. That's six who were expected to be rotation regulars. And let's face it, part of a revamped roster is learning what combinations work, and which don't, rather than dealing with such lessons in March or April. It seems like most fans embrace the minutes for Shabazz Napier and James Ennis, and both have gotten their chances, while others wanted to see Justin Hamilton, who also received his chance. In fact, wouldn't it be weaker to not take chances on exploring possibilities? Now, when it's all together (if it's all together), that's a more reasonable time to make judgments,

Q: Hi Ira, hate to say it, but you and I have been preaching the same thing for weeks now: Coach Spo needs to understand he doesn't have the horses for the defensive scheme he has deployed for four years when LeBron James was here. We need to play more conservative (more 'Bulls-like') since teams know the blueprint and know how to beat us. Also, I think we need to start the game with our five best players: Mario Chalmers, Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng, Chris Bosh and Josh McRoberts. Norris Cole is not a starting point guard on this team. Thoughts? -- George, Toronto.

A: A few: The Heat can't play the same defense as the Bulls because they don't have a Joakim Noah to clean things up in the middle. That has been a major part of the problem, with positively no rim deterrence during Birdman's absence. And you can't play straight-up defense when your point guards are allowing straight-line blow-bys. I agree with the lineup you offered. But, again, the problem is a function of the roster, with no suitable backup shooting guard for Wade beyond Chalmers.

Q: We could actually lose the next eight before we have a chance to win a game again against Philly. The way the Heat are playing, beating the Nuggets, the Suns, the Bulls and the Wizards are out of the question. And the Heat can conceivably lose to the Jazz, Celtics and Nets. It's gonna get a whole lot worse before it gets better. -- John.

A: Look, we're talking about a team that entered the week with the same amount of victories as the Magic, so nothing should be taken for granted. This is a two-man team right now, with almost no support system. And plenty of two-man teams have struggled over the years. Unless someone comes on to consistently support Bosh and Wade, your forecast could resonate.

People are still asking the wrong questions - but again, this fan base is stupid. the constant shuffling is because bitches like diva constantly, unnecessarily sit out games. A little more consistency from the players - will allow the coaches to be more consistent with their approach. It is ALL on the players at this point.

McRoberts not at shootaround accoring to Ira Winderman, where the Heat are probably practicing jumpers and 3pt shots instead of FTs and other problems they need fix. McRoberts, probably again became sick when hearing of the possiblity of Diva Wade possily SITTING OUT another game tonight for no reason

So the Nets have made Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson available for trades... Lopez if he could stay healthy would be a huge upgrade for us. Not sure what we have that could be traded tho. Thoughts?

I think the problem with this trade, if it involved the Heat - is that the Heat has guys that they deem untouchable - The other problem is, the other candidates the Heat have as trade options arent exactly the most desirable of pieces. Thats why signing D-League guys or FA’s off the street might be the only way the Heat tries to improve the team in-season.

When a team has spent years spending so much money on 3 guys , it makes it a little more difficult to fil the other 12 spots with as much or as good in quality as may be needed.

To borrow the word of Mario Chalmers “ now that that guy is gone” from this point forward, the Heat can focus on improving the roster from top to bottom with guys individually instead of trying to favor one or two guys over the rest of the team - not saying that there isnt someone deserving of that on most teams, but that isnt necessarily the best way to operate for the present or future.

Isiah Thomas will not play for Suns tonight. McRoberts will play for Heat. Everyone should be good to go - as per usual, the only wild-card is Diva Wade

Defense still iffy but offense good enough so far - and we will need to score to beat them, so...

Our perimeter defense is really awful. If I am Spolestra, I take out Wade and Cole to send a message. That and the doubling up and pressuring of the ball as part of the scheme is killing us. Teams just figure it out and then go to work.

Having a rim protector is so important.

That Chalmers lay up would be an easy make for an opponent against our team but if you have a rim protector that is a blocked shot
