We completely dominated this game start to finish. Perhaps our best effort all season long. Two very lucky bounces and Neuvy literally handing them a goal are the only reasons we gave up anything. Then Ward stood on his head virtually the entire game to keep us from scoring.

We should've won this game 5-1 easily. How many breakaways did Ward stop? I remember Read shanked a 2 on 1 shot in which he had at least half of the net to look at. Voracek was doing everything he wanted to with the puck for the entire game. I lost track how many times we got set up in their zone for entire shifts.
Shots don't always tell the tale, but they actually did in this one. We outshot them 37-18, which is more than double.
Maybe I should've known how our night was going to go when Simmonds got held in front of Ward with the puck laying in front of him to nullify a great scoring chance and there was no call. Then, they gave him a penalty for arguing...Lol

As others have pointed out, this really was a case of winning on all fronts but the score board. If the Flyers were not in a position where they need to win in regulation against virtually everyone, this would be on to mark down as "one of those nights" and move on.
