Honestly, Indy is the logical place because of what you say. I wonder if Wentz' problems are fixable at this point though given the rumblings about his practice habits, etc. Of course, maybe him being humbled by all this might wake him up.
I also wonder if New England would take a shot. They won't bring Cam back, imo.
He's fixable on mechanics which Reich can do but the mental part of the game is on him and maybe a change of scenery could do it.

hiring a hit man may be the only way the Eagles get out of the mess with Wince.

The more I think about it, New England is very possible. Belichick loves mental reclamation projects and if anybody can get Wentz' head fixed, it's BB. And between the ears is a big part of Carson's problem, imo.

They didn't know they were getting Nick Chubb ahead of time. The Browns paid $15 mil for a 2nd round draft pick. He went as the #35 pick, and was not in the form that he had been before the gruesome knee injury. So they also didn't know they were getting the version of Nick Chubb who has returned to form, and is very good.

Now, I'll amend my statement if someone can point me to a monetary grade on a player in that draft position, and it's around that amount. But if it's significantly less than that, it looks to me like they bought a $15 mil power ball they had the luck to hit. And it wouldn't be a practice to be repeated often.
If they were willing to pay the money how is it a bad move? Happens in the NBA all the time. worse would be to find out he was made this offer and was too cheap to pay. Paying this money did not stop them from making any other moves they wanted to make as they had a ton of cap room.

They were a terrible team with too much cap room for their own good. Teams like that can make moves like that, there was zero risk for basically free draft picks.
Idea anyone calls this anything but brilliant is absurd. It was spend the money on the pick or it sits there. This type of deal happens in the NBA all the time and often they take on the contract for a late 1st. Better chance to hit on a 2nd in NFL than late 1st in NBA.

Good for them for being the first I can recall to make that type of deal in the NFL.

I get that, and the risk paid off. But if this had been a year earlier, and they used that pick on Kizer, we'd be singing a different tune.
Different? I guess. Instead of saying brilliant trade and great pick we'd say brilliant trade but they blew the pick.

same as their Wentz deal. Smart move for them....better if they took Thomas instead of Coleman.

What risk? Some rich guy throwing money around to buy a free top 35 draft pick.
If Possible every owner would like to buy themselves a high round draft pick. Their cap wasn't affected one single bit. & they basically got a free #35 pick. I see zero risk in this move. (even if they had fucked up the use of that pick)
Yep...either it's a brilliant move and they nailed the pick or brilliant move and they blew the pick. don't get the angst unless it is his money.

Too lazy to look, but have heard he will have a ton of cap space, so this does make sense.

Who knows what is coming.

I think it is more likely that they fire Doug and hire a new HC to work with Wentz. I think above all else they should fire Roseman and then let the new GM make the rest of the decisions.

If Hurts continues to play well, it will be impossible to go this route.

Ppl saying that albatross contract , he’s not tradeable are wrong. Eagles eat money and whoever trades him gets what is it 3 or 4 years in the middle 20 mill range. If you think he’s fixable you do it. But man howie the cap genius....

They eat about a 32 mil cap hit if traded, don't they? I think a team like the Patriots would be willing to make tge move at only 24.5 mil per. I think a lot of his issues are in his head and a change of scenery is much needed.

A trade is possible. Cutting him before the end of the 2021 season is not possible, based on the cap.

It's not that another team won't trade for his contract it's that the Eagles just can't take on the cap hit of trading him. They are $64M over the 2021 cap right now according to Spotrac. That is with Wentz costing them $35M in cap hit. If the link you quoted is even close to accurate ($59M dead money) and I assume it is because it matches Spotrac, they couldn't possibly take that on with dismantling the team. The would be much better served waiting one more year to make their decision after 2021 when his dead money is $24M (less than his cap hit if he stays)
