Wow, I just saw that he's on Craig's List.....a dining set is included......legs on the chairs look shot.......

It's like one of those ads you see where someone is trying to give away a 30 year old tortoise for free, basically saying come and take it, it's yours and I will give you the tank and food and everything that comes with it.

Yea good luck trading that contract, I guess they can take the same route the brock osweiler trade took and the Eagles can throw in like a 2nd rounder
what a deal by us....got Nick Chubb with that pick. Brilliant.

Stupid move by the Browns? To take on money AND the pick that turned into Nick Chubb for pretty much nothing? Better to waste the cap room?
They didn't know they were getting Nick Chubb ahead of time. The Browns paid $15 mil for a 2nd round draft pick. He went as the #35 pick, and was not in the form that he had been before the gruesome knee injury. So they also didn't know they were getting the version of Nick Chubb who has returned to form, and is very good.

Now, I'll amend my statement if someone can point me to a monetary grade on a player in that draft position, and it's around that amount. But if it's significantly less than that, it looks to me like they bought a $15 mil power ball they had the luck to hit. And it wouldn't be a practice to be repeated often.

Breer fails to point out 2 things:
1st: Most of the 2022 money fully guarantees before the 2021 season, so a trading team can't just pay 2021 money for 2021 and cut bait.
2nd: Wentz is due $10M in March 2021. The Eagles could pay that money and absorb it into their 2021 cap. Any team trading for Wentz would effectively be picking up a $37.4M contract over 2 years, (with good options if it worked out). In that scenario the Eagles would be looking at a cap number of $43.82M for Wentz in 2021, (with no further hits), rather than the scheduled $34.67M.

Acquiring Wentz at $37.4M for 2 years still looks like a bad risk to me. My guess is the Eagles keep Wentz for 2021 and see what happens.

They were a terrible team with too much cap room for their own good. Teams like that can make moves like that, there was zero risk for basically free draft picks.

I get that, and the risk paid off. But if this had been a year earlier, and they used that pick on Kizer, we'd be singing a different tune.

I will say I think Philly can get something for him. i would guess a 2nd rounder. the contract numbers may seem high but for a QB they are pretty low And especially if a team can get out after a couple of years if it doesn’t workout.

What risk? Some rich guy throwing money around to buy a free top 35 draft pick.
If Possible every owner would like to buy themselves a high round draft pick. Their cap wasn't affected one single bit. & they basically got a free #35 pick. I see zero risk in this move. (even if they had fucked up the use of that pick)

Sure but even then they weren’t using the cap. Take a risk on draft picks...why not

I think a team like Indy could throw a third at Philly and probably receive a draft pick in return. Reich is probably the one that knows how to fix Wentz and he has 2 yrs to do it or he gets cut and doesn't cost them any cap space.
Honestly, Indy is the logical place because of what you say. I wonder if Wentz' problems are fixable at this point though given the rumblings about his practice habits, etc. Of course, maybe him being humbled by all this might wake him up.
I also wonder if New England would take a shot. They won't bring Cam back, imo.
