So I shoot in a lot of organized pistol shoots. It is great fun.

I generally shoot a S&W 686 with a 6 in barrel in single action.

I shot last night in one and for some reason I decided to work on double action. Man was I bad. I mean knocking 1 out of 6 plates down bad. It is so much harder then I expected. I think I get locked on the actual hammer coming back and cannot focus that great.

BTW I can shoot my 1911 and my Glock just fine at plates.

Just thought I would share.

I have a double action / single action semi-auto Ruger P95 and I have a real hard time with the double action. It's just so different than in single action.

My attention lately has been building my first AR15 - which I just got done like 3 weeks ago. It's pretty slick. I'm still waiting to find some ammo for it to actually shoot it.

Parts description please.

I have 2. One I purchased that was custom made and one I built myself. Both are tack drivers.

Stag Lower
CMMG Lower Parts kit
Palmetto State Armory premium mock dissipator upper, mid length gas system, FN barrel
Windham Weaponry BCG
Mil spec PSA buffer tube kit, standard buffer
Magpul MOE hand guard and stock
and for now just basic Magpul rear sight with the front A2 sight. Haven't decided on optics or if I even want one.

I fell in love with the look of the dissipator and love the rifle length handguard, and sight radius, on the 16'' barrel.

Very nice. I have a red dot on mine but hardly ever use it. I like iron sights and am pretty good up to about 300 yds with them.

The only AR I've ever shot was my uncle's and he has a scope mounted on the thing for shooting varmints. I fell in love with it and decided it would be more fun to build one. I've always preferred shooting with iron sights over optics, which is part of the reason I chose the dissipator style. I'm a huge fan of shooting bolt actions with iron sights and old military firearms.

same with my p345......i've been making it a point to rotate some DA practice into my range time

Being that my 686 is mostly a range gun for pistol shoots I am not that concerned but it is a challenge that I welcome. I pretty much clear 6 of 6 on every round I shoot in single action. DA I was like a newb. I was kinda pissed about it..in a small sense.
