Ray gets the call-up to replace Bradley who went on the DL. He gets the start tonight vs Harvey, pushing back both Hellickson & Anderson by a day. I hope the bats stay hot.

So what's the deal with Saltalamacchia?

Dback's pay him zero even if we keep him the rest of the season?

And regarding Ray: Let's hope he can duplicate his last start tonight. He looked amazing!

The deal with Salty is that we are paying the veteran league minimum while he is on the big league team. Miami owes him whatever was left on his contract minus what any team pays him for this season.

I'll stop bagging on Salty of he hits HRs & 2Bs more often.

Ray needs a short quick inning. He is not going to be able keeping pulling a Houdini sct .

Since the broadcast had Stewart talking about the draft, what are everyone's thoughts on the pick?

I am leaning towards Dansby Swanson, SS, Vanderbilt being the pick. The big reservation I have is that if Ahmed keeps hitting & ends up a .250-60 hitter, do we really need to draft a college SS who will be up relatively soon?

If not Swanson, I think the pick will either be Tyler Jay, LHP, Illinois or
Carson Fulmer, RHP, Vanderbilt.

I think they also take a catcher or two in the early rounds.

Tomas is shitting the bed as protection for Goldy.

Lamb, hurry up with your rehab assignment!

I wanted that HS SS Rodgers but apparently he's not on our list. I hope we pick Swanson but I won't be surprised if we get a pitcher.

Very good start by Ray. You can see why they have high hopes for him. Looks like he has corrected his control issues he once had before we traded for him. He just needs to continue refining that "out" pitch so that his pitch count doesn't get run up like today.

That was awesome. The Met's telecast was talking up Goldy and how good he is on an off piece story. and he cranks the home run.

Why would you pitch a dude a day after being traded and traveling a lot in a one run game?

That was just mind boggling. How do you use a kid with a 7.00 era in a one run game???!?!?!??!?!

Then Reed continues to be hot trash

This bullpen is easily one of the worst in MLB history

I put this loss squarely on Chip Hales's BP moves or lack there of.

I understand that he wanted to see the new arm in immediate action & that the BP has been taxed recently, but after Leone let 2 on & had a lefty at the plate, he should have went to Chaffin. Instead, he allowed Leon to fail miserably, giving up 3 runs.

Hale did a poor job of managing his bullpen last night. Leone should have got the hook much sooner than he did.

In terms if the draft, I was thinking about fuller from Vanderbilt. I saw him pitch against my tigers and he looked good. Even though my tigers roughed him up for four runs, you could tell the stuff was there! I am partial to Bergman at SS but that would be too high for him. I would be fine with fulmer, Jay, Stephenson or Swanson. All have fair to good upside. Fulmer and jay are fringe aces but likely #2's.

Hellickson with a good 6 innings tonight. Hopefully whoever is closing, doesn't blow the save.

Hellickson pitched alright tonight. I would like to see him get through seven but we are making slow baby steps. Offense looked decent. Nice payback for last night. Hopefully we can at least split this series.

Good win last night.

Good to see Lamb back with the team. He was 4/11 with 4 BB in 3 games for Reno. I wonder if he will be claimed waivers, since his a serviceable utility bench guy. If he passes through waivers, will he accept an assignment to Reno?

Hmm, they brought Lamb off the DL but didn't put him in the starting lineup. I wonder if this was just a move to clear a 40-man spot on the roster for adding another player later? Oscar Hernandez & Corbin are both on the 60 day DL & not a part of the 40-man. Either would be need to be added to the 40 man when they come off the DL. Pacheco being designated removes him from the 40-man & gives us a spot open since Lamb was already on the 40-man. If Pacheco passes through waivers & goes to Reno, he won't be on the 40-man till he gets called back up.
