OK, the player Ced was talking about was Dave Hollins. Now my turn

Damn, you should have left that one out there for JVett or Retro.

Anyway, I like the idea of naming some former teammates when we need clues. It makes it kind of like the Kevin Bacon game

Pee Wee Reese?

Good guess, but Reese played in the NL. This guy was on a team that had players that largely overshadowed him and his success.

With all those World Series appearances in the AL it has to be a Yankee--Phil Rizzuto?

You're right there. This guy was a teammate of Rizzuto (you may not have heard of him- like I said his success kind of took a back door to Ford, Rizzuto, and Mantle).

This is a total guess because I'm not even sure he was on the Yankees but I have at least heard of him and I think he was an infielder. Bobby Richardson

No not him. Should I leave it up to Jvett or should we just move on?

Why, do you have another one?

Yeah I just looked up Richardson. I was pretty close -he did play second base on the Yankees for a few years in the 1950's

Yeah, just leave that one out there. I may come up with a guess later. In the mean time here is a more recent one for you:

Retired in the last couple years. Despite being a Lifetime .232 hitter and not a great defender he still managed to put up positive WAR numbers every time he played a full season.
Very good at drawing walks. 6 Seasons with 27 or more HRs. Played on several teams, almost exclusively in the AL but did play one year on the Cubs.

His best year he hit 46 HRs, had an OBP of over .400 and came in 9th in MVP voting

Not sure. I would say Mo Vaughn but I thought he retired more than a few years ago

No, good guess. Similar player but Mo Vaughn usually had a decent batting average. This guy it seems like was constantly hitting in the .225-.230 range but he always put up good numbers in walks and HRs

Also, this guy is only 37 years old and his stats go up to 2014 so for all I know he could still be playing in Mexico or Japan or something, but I'm assuming he is retired

I feel like I should definitely get this one. I'm thinking he played a majority of his career with either the Rays or Red Sox.
