That was a tough one but the strikeouts clue helped. I don't think his days with the Yankees or A's were very memorable.

I'm bored. Who can get this old-timer?
  • Won three consecutive Gold Gloves from 1960-1962
  • Five-time All-Star
  • He led the American League four times in assists and putouts, three times in baserunners caught stealing and twice in caught stealing percentage, with a career fielding percentage of .990
  • Had his best season in 1961 when he hit .302/.377/.470 in 522 PA

Gus Triondos came into my mind.

Seriously? I don't think Gus Triondos' just pops up in anyone's mind, except maybe Mrs. Triondos

Seriously. I colllected and traded baseball cards. I remember many players this way. I went thru various first names Jim, george, tom, bob yogi, gus, bill, and triondos surfaced and really I haven't mentioned or even thought about this player in 9 or 10 decades. This means the brain is fucken amazing!

It's hard enough to even guess which team he was on. I'll say white sox before I look it up. But I don't feel like it.
Correct. Did you ever see him?

Let's get this going again.

  • His offense is overrated because of his power (.456 career SLG, but only .336 OBP)
  • 6 time All-Star
  • Won an MVP in '02, when he hit .308/.354/.508 for a 4.5 fWAR
  • His nickname was "La Guagua"
  • Suspended in 2013 for 105 games; at the time, the third longest non-lifetime suspension handed out by MLB for a drug-related suspension
