Lester hits the first batter to put the tying run on base.
He gets a strike out.
Then there's an infield hit. Left handed batter.
Then there's a strike out where Lester threw 3 balls in a row, and the left handed batter just happened to swing at the third ball.
Now, a RIGHTY batter comes up. YTF don't you just put Rondon in and end this shit? Why are we keeping Lester out there at the end of his "arm?"

I like Maddon's decisions almost always, but what do we have a closer for if not for this very situation?

As hard ass as Maddon is to the h's, Hammel, Hendricks and Haren is a pussified he is with Jake and Lester. How about the dribbler that Lester refused to field since he cannot throw to second base that was the infield hit? Why is this guy not out there every day throwing to bases? Why dont they give Rizzo a catchers mask so he might be able to hold a runner on? When the brewers played the cubs, they just took off on first movement. Everybody knows he wont throw there. Playoffs each walk will be a triple.

He did his job, hopefully next time Maddon makes the move.

another game, another waiting too long to pull Lester. I just love how the local broadcast went to Vin Scully for a while, and in that minute or so, he said Coghlan took a terrible path to a fly ball hit over his head, then the cubs thinking Lester will be this same pitcher at 37 that he is at 31. Pretty sure they cut that segment short lol.

going for the sweep today with lester against the cards.

I just feel this team is being set up. Alot of fastballs middle in to too many cub hitters, while Montero and Bryant are getting the junk to chase that the whole lineup usually sees.

As great as last nights game was did anyone else notice how God awful Tim McCarver is in the booth. Had to mute it as he went back to the 60's with every Gibson or Maris story. Time to old yeller him behind the barn.

backed in last night with a Giants loss. Kinda glad there is no celebration, no stars off the next day, still fight for home field for the play in. Cards got beat by the reds yesterday and pirates are now just 3 games behind.
