The Bills have proven time and time again they cannot assess QB talent via the draft. Totally agree...they need to fill the position by FA or trade with a proven guy. The less their brass has to figure out, the better.

Keep in mind the circus that surrounds Cutler isn't all his fault. Brandon Marshall is a giant clown that is terrible for team chemistry. His O-Coordinator is an idiot in Chicago. Put him in the right spot and he might impress. The standard is so low in Buffalo that it might be a good fit.

I like Orton, I really do...but I don't really see him as the answer. Cutler might not be either, but he MIGHT be. That's the best I can see for our options.

Orton retiring is a bit worrying, he was the fall back incase we can't figure our shit out (which tends to happen with the Bills) it does save us $7.5M in cap space though (I think, not positive)

I hope that there's a chance that EJ seeing Orton run the offense might help him out but we'll see

I'm not sure if there's anything promising free agent wise

we don't want Cutler, Kyle Orton brought nearly the same group of Broncos players to the playoffs that Cutler couldn't

and Cutler playing the worst of his career right now

Now that Orton is gone, you guys can't seriously be okay with EJ Manuel over Cutler? If that's the case...wow.

Like I said, we can knock Cutler all we want, but let's get a better option in there than. Cutler's "worst of his career" (not sure I'd agree with that) is better than the QB the Bills have received for the past decade.

You talk like Cutler is a FA. A new coach in Chicago could easily keep him. And his contract seems like a difficult trade match.

It was pretty much mutiny in the lockerroom. I am aware Cutler is not a FA, but it would seem he could be had in a trade. We could send our first round pick over. Oh wait....

I've seen this joke from you multiple times, but we wouldn't give up a first for Cutler so it isn't very fitting here

You will continue to see it so long as Bills fans continue to either 1) Justify that ridiculous Watkins pick; and/or 2) Scratch their head about why we didn't improve much via the draft next year.

I noticed a lot less talk about how we had to include "running back of the future" Bryce Brown in analyzing the Watkins pick. Jackson and Spiller went down and Brown still isn't seeing the field because of a guy named Boobie.

Can I at least get a little Robert Woods love from ya, johnson?

And for someone who believes there's no chance at making a good first round pick, you seem awfully upset about losing it.Seriously man, who cares about a pick in the 20's? Sammy Watkins is a legit stud WR. Now a QB might look at the Bills and see opportunities and maybe we can start attracting good chuckers.

Brown wasn't active because he was/is Spiller's role. Boobie is the rock, Freddie is the all-round guy. Spiller was suppose to be the x factor, but failed miserably. When Brown was in there, he showed his value.

And the main thing here, is that if we sign Hughes and Searcy, we only need three starters. QB and two G.

Fuck Marrone. I liked him, but fuck him. I could get behind Reich if that happens.

I agree with you, the Bills would probably screw up a first round pick anyways, but I'd much rather have one. They generally botch it, but every so often they get it right (probably by sheer luck). There are some guys who are no-brainers and maybe the Bills finally go there instead of trying to be cute. We'll never know.

I like Woods. He showed some nice progress this year. I'm not sure he's the #2 WR of the future, but he's done enough to be considered for it.

Bradford could become available if the can't rework his contract with the Rams. Some other options might be trading for Glennon (who is likely out of a job even as backup with the Bucs at #1 and poised to take Mariota) or perhaps taking a shot with Austin Davis, who showed signs with the Rams for half the season. Cutler is too expensive IMO to be a realistic option.

Mid-round draft options could include Petty, Hundley, Grayson, etc. I'm not sold on Hundley, as too often his impact is by running. If he had the head and leadership of Russell Wilson he would be perfect, but he doesn't. Petty has a lot of arm talent, but is in a 1-read spread offense, and will likely need some time to develop. Obviously Mariota and Winston are out of the mix, as they would be gone too early even for the 1st rounder the Bills traded to the Browns.

You really think the Rams would trade Bradford? What would be their plan with him gone? Davis and Hill are decent backup quality QBs, but not starters.

Interesting idea with Glennon. Might make some sense for the Bills, all things considered.

Yes the Rams would release Bradford if he doesn't rework his contract or they could figure it's just time to move on and start new.

Man is this board dead. Even with free agency in full swing, no posts in 2 1/2 weeks?

Pumped about the three year deal for Incognito. Say what you want about him, he's our best lineman.

Other than that I don't expect much until the draft.
